So the buyers are not the only ones getting fed up with him. Whats the ABC doing about Amaranta and the other failed sites of Mr Thief Robb? Sounds and looks like precious little. Having been past Amaranta recently it looks like nothing has been done on site of any significance so wheres all the money going that buyers are still paying monthly?

Slight difference? I dont think so, people not getting their title deeds, properties being double sold. Tell me what the 'slight difference' is.

Suzanne, Turkish administration will be very reluctant to offer assistance to Mr Robbs victims. It is a TRNC issue. Re-unification will certainly not bring Mr Robb to justice. He most certainly will be denied further permissions to develop regardless of re-unification. Furthermore. If Suzanne's aspirations came to fruition all the buyers on Amaranta would face title challenge because it is on TRNC exchange land. The history of Mr Robbs dealigs speak for themselves. The fact is that it is very unlikely indeed that he will meet his contractual obligations or indeed compensate the many buyers on Amaranta. It is very tough to accept but anyone who has been Mr Robbs victims best move on, start again and do your very best to deal with the difficulties created. Rest assured that Mr Robbs fraudulent activities are well documented and his scope for further activity is very much reduced.

According to Cyprus Today President Talat and many of his family and many other polititions have purchased villas on former Greek Cypriot owned land. If thier is ever a solution to the Cyprus talks I cant see Talat signing a deal where it involves himself, family and fellow polititions losing thier properties. So people who have purchased on exchange land are in a safer position in my opinion.

Over the last few days there has been much written regarding the problems associated with buying in the TRNC and encouraging people to unite and support each other. To some extent many people are experiencing problems with their purchase because they listened to others recommending builders, advocates and estate agents before they had finished the build or got their title deeds. It was only at the near completion stage, when the developer had most of their money that people became aware of such problems. I have long advocated that people should not recommend anyone until they have fully completed and are holding their title deeds in their hands. With this in mind could I ask you, Suzanne, not to make out that all is hunky dory in the South. There are people experiencing long delays (decades) in obtaining title deeds and because of the mounting scams in the South, they now have their own equivalent to the HBPG. Perhaps its the one thing they have in common!

A legal challenge on mass by the investors (buyers) could secure ownership. A development of this size with, I expect many contracts of sale, contracts of works, unpaid creditors, title ownership issues, would create a very expensive and time consuming legal case. Furthermore who is to take control should ownersip be granted? Who has the ability and finance to complete the project? Any commercial entity would shy away from the challenge as too risky in the current climate. Perhaps a co-operative of buyes coul do it but do you want to throw good oney after bad. No guarantees in the TRNC courts though TRNC administration would clearly like to see situation resolved. The proplem is just too big and much more complicated than the numerous smaller development issues in TRNC.

suzanne I am sorry for being so pedantic but there are the same problems in the ROC, people not getting title deeds, properties being double sold, builders mortgages on land etc. Tell me that this is not true and then everyone will realise that you are nothing but a wind up merchant. AJ

Redsnapper: "Just cant understand why the government doesn`t take his assets and start to finish it." Because if they did that TCs and Turks would ask the authorities why they are bailing out these rich foreign Brit b*stards instead of helping THEM survive as hard up citizens and residents. And they would have a good point, you have to admit.

Bradus, Don't give Suzanne a hard time for telling it as it is. You and I both know very well property issues in the south are but a drop in the ocean compared to the scandal-hit north. In the south people have legal redress and EU comeback. In the lawless north victims are on their own and largely scuppered.

during bayram i got the chance to speak to a couple of cypriots who are in politics. one when i asked what would their party do about gary rob, the guy just laughed. when i asked him about getting my fellow english their kochans again just laughted. i nearly choked on my lunch! the second one from a different party said yes rob would be sent back to the uk, and the kochan question was they would have everyone their kochan in one year. so all these issues relate to which party gets into power here, that will be for the cypriots to decide.

I doubt that any of the parties would do anything at all. Words are cheap, politicians' words are worthless. Cyprus politics consist of carting fridge/freezers round in the back of a truck, to swap for votes. We don't have a vote, so we don't count, they don't care about us at all, only themselves. They would be perfectly happy if we, or at least the ones who raise their heads above the parapets to complain, went back to the UK and stopped asking awkward questions which involve them in thinking up more lies with which to pacify us. The sooner you recognise the truth of this, the sooner you'll realise that the only way of getting anything done is to get off your backside, and get doing whatever it is yourself. The above statement is not aimed at the previous poster, or indeed at anyone in particular, it is intended to convey the reality of politics and government here. Just my opinion, of course. Keith.

keith i the guy who is saying they will sort it out is a friend. we had a good chat with him and asked if they would allow us to some of there meetings, as they don't have a clue about lots of the issues facing brits here. our friend does as he knows us, but many don't have much contact with the expat community. in local goverment issues relating to the village ect, we are always included in village meeting and allowed to have our say.(some don't like it, but as part of the village they just have to suffer it) even though we dont get a vote, you do have a voice and asking people to help is a way of getting up of your bum to get something done. i will just add that, we have our kochan, i am asking for help for all those who are not so lucky! you will not get anything done here by expat meetings or shouting. you need to be polite and ask a cypriot for help!

and *I* think may be it is strange that someone who has a property in Kyrenia / Girne can be called "bigoted" and an "idiot " with impunity .. I can think of TCs who question the validity of "TRNC" - would that make 'em "bigoted" ..NO.. So having a different political opinion makes one an idiot... ?! "Greek Cypriot Spy!!".. I rather think one of those would be sandbagging not drawing attention to his/her posts.. Don't you wish you had the option to delete / edit this, post Bakala?

re 17 Waz "Turkish administration will be very reluctant to offer assistance to Mr Robbs victims. It is a TRNC issue." It is actually a CYPRUS issue.. he sold land that wasn't his to sell, to folk who would never see anything for it, and folk like me were banned from boards for specifically warning about this character..and the obvious outcome :(

My comment was in response to his reference to Brit baxxxards Which i consider offensive as well as bigoted, Anyone grown up man who has to use swear words on a public board is either an idiot or maybe has a limited vocabulary his previous posts show he has a reasonable vocabulary, So therefore i consider him an idiot! he also undermines everything good about the TRNC all the time, we all know there is a lot wrong with the TRNC we live here, but there is a lot right about it too , a point Pike misses completely, his repetitive undermining of the TRNC smacks of Greek nationalism gone mad However as a spy he’s absolutely transparent so yes keep him on the board because if he is a spy and we get rid of him they may get someone with brains as a replacement! Do i wish i could edit my previous post no not at all! Everybody happy?

Right Gary Robb is undoubtely a crook and a con man along with the estate agent ( if the estate agent knew what gary robb was up to) cos I understand they were sold on twice thru the same estate agent..hmmm....most ppl paid a large proportion up front on the grounds of big discounts and were fleeced...now I am a strong believer that when Brits get on a plane they leave their brains at the airport...when a deal is too good to be true it ususally is... Whilst this ongoing saga is extremely sad and ppl have lost a lot, this is not a TRNC monopoly, it happens worldwide including the UK. The moral of the story...do not buy off plan!

re 32 ..agree re the swearing bit........ NOT the rest.. much of what Pikey says is correct .. may be he could phrase it better to suit the audience ... ...and he makes it PLAIN he has no problem with Cypriots of any persuasion.. he rants on about corruption... Other members do, too - this doesn't make 'em biased.. "spy"?.... ))))))) They'll be amongst the members who join, but never post, surely...?

I think they still want to question him over a night club in Sunderland called the blue monkey that was a right drugs haven. and from what I hear there are still a few villains in the area want to see him, so if he's ever back in Sunderland he could get it from both ends.
