Advice please....Taxi or car hire to Larnaca to Lapta

My daughter,husband,and 3 girls are coming for a holiday in May.



I would like to hire a people carrier type vehicle from 22nd May until 30th May,which is insured and I can go to Larnaca to collect them,and return them 30th May.

Which is the best,most competitive company,preferably near Lapta ?



Alternatively,a reliable taxi company that would collect me from Lapta and take me to Larnaca,and return to Lapta.And the return trip on 30th May.Remember,that is carrying 6 people and a couple of suitcases.Please give details of the Taxi

Try Ozzie - 05338656305 - I am sure he has a people carrier. We always use him to transport guests to and from Larnaca as his cars are immaculate and he is really reliable.

£130 return we pay so that should be £65 per trip

( not sure if you would pay for jumping in cab on way out )

I can highly recommend http://www.birdrentacar.com they have 7 seater Belingos and 8 seater Ford Connect for hire they also have Taxis big enough. They are in Karalonuglou, the garage is on the left as you drive from Lapta going to Girne.

Return taxi from where I used to live in the UK to Manchester was about an hour and a half drive-I was paying around £75 with a local taxi firm for a return journey.

Here It is more expensive to do the return trip from Larnanca to Girne area- the going rate is around £90-£100, yet the distance is about the same, and petrol is cheaper(Not by a lot I admit).

The other thing I have notice is that the cut price firms here do sharing- sometimes getting up to 8 peeps in a minibus paying up to £40 each for the trip.

Now your not telling me that taxi insurance in the UK and the other overheads are cheap.

So why the rip off prices?

Sevener restaurant and car hire, do pick up from Larnaca. They are very reliable and I have used them for many years. They are on the corner just before the first turn off to Alsancak.
