There will be a Echinococcus Check and Registration’ in the boundaries of Municipality of Girne.

It is complusory for dog owners to bring their dogs for examination at the time and the place mentioned below IF you have not already registered for 2012 :

(1) Veterinary Department examination fee for every dog is 10 TL

(2) Girne Municipality Licence Fees:

- Male Dogs : 12 TL

- Female Dogs : 35 TL

- Neutured Female Dogs: 12 TL

** The operation of neuturing should be signed by the veterinary doctor in the Dog’s Veterinary Health card.



(3) Dog’s Veterinary Health cards showing all the examinations, or ‘Echinococcus Check-Up Certificate’ given by Veterinary Department should be shown during examination.





This is only for dogs that are NOT already registered for 2012.

Hamish Just read your post and I'm confused now.

Just posted on the other thread about registering dogs.

Visited the vetinary dept opp the hosp in Girne.

They entered my details and my dogs details in a large ledger

.I paid 10tl and was given a green card and 4 worming tabs. Advised to go to Esentepe Belediyesi and present my green card. I presume to collect her disc

No one examined her, she remained in the car.

robyn - sorry i did not respond sooner but i have only just seen your post.

The info above IS ONLY for dogs which have NOT already registered for 2012 (ie - the visit to Gvmt vet to get the worm tablet and green card -which you have already done - followed by the visit to local B'dere).

The info (above) is only for dogs living within the Girne Municipaility. We have no details yet on other areas.

Sorry if it caused any confusion.

Thankyou Hamish, Trotted off to Esentepe Belediyesi to register this am.

Look of total confusion when I proudly presented my green card.

I explained I wanted to register my dog collect my registration no & disc.

Told not registering dogs at the moment.

Asked if they have any plans to register dogs in the near future.

Told yes maybe,soon.

Wrote my name & tel no on a scrap of paper,said I would be contacted when they begin registration.

Why did I get the feeling that after I left that piece of paper may be used as a mat for someones coffee cup

Went to Lapta council today - told guy that did registration was out so come back later. Went back and he to seem very confused. Secretary (whom I had seen in morning) had to find the pad of forms for him and tell him what to write. Didn't want address or phone number! Collected 12TL: for each dog - no discs; just a piece of paper. Money for old rope again.
