A surprise visit by US President George Bush to Iraq has been overshadowed by an incident in which two shoes were thrown at him during a news conference. An Iraqi journalist was wrestled to the floor by security guards after he called Mr Bush "a dog" and threw his footwear, just missing the president. The soles of shoes are considered the ultimate insult in Arab culture.

Phyllis You have to be very careful as to call someone a 'wolf' is a big big no no here... they don't have the same terms of endearment as we do... in the UK it's OK to call someone a silly old bugger... I don't recommend it here... and don't even think about 'donkey'

Ironic that he now has the freedom to do that. Had he dared do that to Saddam he'd be wearing concrete shoes by now!!

Bush was happy to see the man using his freedom of speech. But he needs to be released from Iraqi custody in order for it to be true. Bush still has pretty good moves. That is all the talk today at work. We all think it is pretty fun.

Sorry mitsi, call someone a 'cow' here in the North East of England and you would be very lucky to ever leave.
