Been a long while since I used masking tape. I do remember if you wait till the pain is completely dry the masking tape may peel off the paint. When should I remove the tape. Waterbased paint on wall. Thank you.

Yes, remove it at once, also the masking tape available is often poor and does not stick so well ( except when you do not want it to!) so put the whole roll in the micrwave for even as little as 10 seconds and it will work better. You may need to try different times, careful it can get very hot!

Good tip re heating it first - especially as you say the quality in Cyprus in often very poor. If removing straight away, make sure that the paint will not run if using on a vertical surface, often better to let the paint go a bit tacky, but not dry.

Thanks Cyprusactive. Correct the tape kept peeling off the wall (my walls are cold and damp) so good idea re the microwave. The paint dried before you replied so tested and the tape came off just fine.

the way to stop masking tape being a problem is to apply it twice, stick 2 bits on instesd of 1, one on top of the other, try it. It really works!
