I'm sure if you give them time to get to know one another in a controlled environment will eventually turn out ok. You just need to be patient and put in some effort.

It really can take time and patience, please don't give up on the new puppy yet, and your terrier needs to be introduce to the newcomer slowly but surely. Don't expect them to get on with each other immediately. Believe me, that rarely happens.
