2012 Esentepe Fun Run - 5k and 10k Distance - Sponsors Needed!

Hi,



Following the highly successful Esentepe Fun Run in 2011 the organisers are pleased to confirm this years event will be held in Esentepe on the 19th May and again will be in aid of Tulips -Help Those With Cancer.The organisers will confirm the details a little nearer the date but are anticipating an even bigger event than last year so please put this date into your diary.



Part of the success of last years event was attributed to the sponsorship from local business's and our aim this year is to give even more business's the opportunity to benefit from what will be one of the main events of the year.We would therefore be delighted to hear from any business small,medium or large who would wish to feel part of this years Fun Run and we will then arrange to meet you to discuss the benefits of supporting this major event.

Unless it has changed it will be Magic Bar on Carringtons site opposite Tuncay'n yeri (apologies for possible mis-spelling).

Can anybody let us know if it is starting and finishing at Alkan holiday village or not ???? and if not WHY ??? it seemed an ideal place and can only be easier to organise in year 2 and hopefully the winner of the 10k will run it

Looking forward to it.



Enjoyed the route along the coast road although it was a bit confusing with the 5K and the 10K runners starting at the same time and using the same route.



Just a suggestion for the melting pot.................would it be possible for say the 10K runners to start 5 or 10 minutes before the 5K runners? That way most of the 10K will be out of the way for the 5K runners.

Also, from a spectators point of view, could the numbers for each distance be a different colour or at least marked with a 5 or 10 with a marker pen.

Only suggestions.................



Plus not sure where the Magic bar is from Alkan Village.

To all our possible entrants from the previous event and any newcomers. To answer the question of why not have the same venue as last year. The start and finish of the race last year, entailed running down the main road so effecting a safety issue. We gave consideration to this last year and had stewards and police assistance but this was still found lacking. After much soul searching, we have decided that safety of the runners is paramount so with this in mind we have sought out a new route starting at Magic Bar on Turtle Bay. The course will include around 90% of last years route and the other 10% will be again along the coast road and not coming into contact with any main thoroughfare. Myself as an ex runner, would be delighted with this route, slightly undulating but scenic and quite. A map of the route will be issued shortly as will sponsorships forms etc.etc.

Your post could confuse people.The magic bar isnt actually on the Turtle bay site.It is actually on the Carrington Deniz Sihir (sea magic) site.This is actually approximateley 1k from Turtle bay.Hope this helps,
