Hello All, Effective immediately, all internet packages are automatically upgraded to higher speeds during off hours of 12midnight-10am. Now you have a good reason to schedule your downloads during off hours. You do not need to do anything, when the clock ticks 12midnight, our system will automatically upgrade your package until 10am when it will again be automatically downgraded to original setting. Here is what you will get: 2Mbps Packages will be upgraded to 5Mbps with up to 10Mbps bursts possible, 4Mbps Packages will be upgraded to 10Mbps with up to 40Mbps bursts possible, 10Mbps Packages will be upgraded to 25Mbps with up to 40Mbps bursts possible. Please note that this upgrade is complimentary and is not a guaranteed service. We expect a high proportion of our customers noticing considerable difference in speeds during these times. You can check your speed at http://www.speedtest.net or http://www.mmcyp.com Enjoy! Kemal

msg 6: On BBC IPlayer desktop, click on downloads>Preferences, & tick the box labelled 'Schedule Series Record downloads between' and select 00:00 to 06:59. Click 'Save' and you're done! uTorrent also has a schedule option under 'Preferences', and all anti-virus programs allow you to set times to download updates etc. Any other programs, just have a good 'click around' and see what options there are If all else fails, Windows operating systems have a built-in scheduler - if you're not sure how to use it, click Start>Help & Support, and read up on it - or 'Google' it

I am currently trying to download a 4.2 meg file using a torrent It is seriously slow 200-250kbs (multimax 4 meg) I suspect it is my laptop but could it also be the time of day with many people connected through the ISP? Speed tests are ok.

newscoop torrent filesuse a peer to peer system. One of the principal determinations of how fast you can download a torrent is how many people are sharing that file such that others like you can download it (in bits) from them at any given time and what the upload speed of those people is, or the uplaod speed limits they have set in their torrent client. If there is only one or two people sharing the file , each with limited upload speeds , then your download speed will be limited by this. This may not be the reason for your particular slow download but it is the most likely cause without having any more information. Most torrent programs let you seed how many 'seeds' there are for a given torrent download and how many peers and what actual peers you are downloading from at any given time. If the numbers are low on these then that would show that it is a lack of 'sources' that is the cause of the slow download and not your end.

@Groucho We have 4Mbps ADSL for 250TL/yr. @Ismet, If you switch to us now, I will give you an extra 2 months free en gratis for the above price. @newscoop, if the speedtest results are ok, the cause most probably is what erols stated. Try downloading a different file with more seeds for comparison. Almost every download site has a scheduling feature. If you use it, not only you get a much faster connections during these off hours, but also you help us keep our costs low enough to provide better connection for cheaper. Kemal

islandgirl most torrent client programs like say utorrent have a 'timer' facility. In Utorrent for example it is under 'prefrances / scheduler'.

Err. Now thats interesting because I have had a couple of occasions when my internet connection has slowed or even cut out around midnight. Havent reported it, because I thought it was probably a blip in an otherwise very satisfactory service, and, since I dont do much downloading, simply switched off and went to bed. As a matter of interest, could it be anything to do with the switchover.

@cyprus40: we have only one package and one price for ADSL, its 250TL/yr for 4Mbps connection. Best I can do for any subscribers who has already have a paid subscription somewhere else is to throw in an extra 2 months of service. If you have subscription until September somewhere else, I would suggest you seek for reimbursement from them first. @BizziLizzi, The speed switchover should not cause any interruption in the service. Please call our support line next time you experience this and we will be able to take a closer look at it. 0548 888 6629 @moxie: your first result with speedtest seems wrong (149Mbps should not be practically possible by any client device). When you say you have a very low signal upstairs, it almost always means there is something wrong with your indoor wireless setup which is also affecting your internet speeds. Please email us at info@multimaxcyprus.com and we will see what we can do about it. Kemal

zeytinlidere looking at how iplayer desktop settings work I would say it is greying out the save button on the 00.00 to 6.59 scheduling option because that is the option that is current already 'saved'. You could test this out by saving one of the other options, then selecting 00.00 to 6.59 option and this time the save button should not be greyed out. Once you save it though, if you then select a different option the save button will light up but if you go back to 00.00 - 6.59 option, the save button will grey out again, because its already set to that option. I hope that makes sense.

cyprusairsoft, I have checked your account on the database and you are on a 2 meg connection with eXtend and your expiry date is 7th March as they added 7 days on for the strikes with Kibtek and Telecommunications. If you pay for 2 meg which is 895 tl you will benefit from the offer and double your speed to 4 meg and get an extra 3 months on top of the 12 months. Gwyn 0533 869 4371
