One of the nicest restaurants has finally closed for good, and the house has been rented out. The Rose Garden in Ozankoy, run by Hassan, has always been a popular restaurant giving good food and service, and will be missed by many. A member of his family said the reason for closure was the extremely high electricity costs.

The Rose Garden has definitely not closed for good ... Hasan is here with me now & is upset that these rumours are not true .. He has closed only for the winter & will open as normal from April to October ... Straight from the horses mouth ..

Ahhh how sad that on the back of some little rumour, this lovely guys business gets branded on here ''restaurant bites the dust''. Just by spreading such idle gossip you can damage someones business and maybe even cause them to actually bite the dust for real!

This is a prime example of rumours ruining peoples' businesses and, consequently, their livelihoods. I am sure we are all aware of how the "Rumour Machine" operates over there, most of us will have experienced it first hand. Very pleased that Hasan is definitely NOT closing down. Incidentally, I don't know the gentleman, but hate the way rumours spread. Good luck for the future. J

Isn't that what this forum is about? Rumour, gossip etc but having the opportunity to find out or respond with the facts/truth? I'm sure that simply reopening or (blinding flash of common sense comes into mind) putting a notice on the door will give notice that the restuarant is still operating.

Excellent news that the Rose Garden is only shut for the winter. Hasan and his family are such lovely people and the food is always good. Never miss a visit or two when I am out. Sandie
