Are these also called falling or dipping pigeons. I remember watching some in a Bum Summer, flying high and then plumetting down, marvelous sight.

Nice pies. If only canine pie was as good, there is an abundence of raw material roaming the street.

as I know, pigeons gained this feature to escape from falcons. But there are lot of those type of pigeons. for example parlor roller pigeon is a kind of pigeon which rolls on the ground and cannot fly as other pigeons

There are Turkish breeds which roll in mid air, one of my neighbours had a pen full of the last year. I was talking to him and suddenly a peregrine falcon stopped on them and made a kill right above our heads. Fantastic sight but the neighbour was not impressed. Every time he let the pigeons out the Peregrine made a kill. Not fast enough to escape the fastest animal on earth. The chap went back to Turkey and gave the birds to another villager. Apparently the cage was attacked by a fox or stray dog and all the birds were eat. None survived. Yorgosli may know of someone with these birds. Good luck

Ms 6. A little off topic but it makes me think about how evolution imprints these features into animals. I remember once going into a small indoor zoo, all of the animals were captive and had never been outdoors. As an experiment I made a bird wings shape with my hands at the mere cat pen and all of them scarpered underground. I wonder what evolution has imprinted into humans? Best of luck with your search.

I have different kind of pigeons. I have 9 different speces. I havent lost any pigeons, Because I know every natural thing for not to loose any pigeons. No cats, falcons, foxes can touch my pigeons. I feed cats to avoid attack by them. I make strong loft for them to avoid fox attack. I use tin plate to make voice and get rid of peregrine falcons. I love them too much. Video of my loft is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3ZObnB1b3w
