Hi All, It's been a while since I have been on! We (my dad but what's his is mine!) have an apartment in Lapta. Haven't been out since last summer and me and the girlfriend are thinking of coming out in May. We have recently got engaged and are considering getting married out there in 2014. She has her heart set on Bellapais Abbey. I have checked out the average temperatures on a number of websites (before people ask!!) but wondered if the weather is pleasant during May as this is also the month we were considering getting married. We will be coming out this year mid- to late May. Are the majority of beachs and resturants open by then and is it decent sunbathing weather?? We will be arranging to see a few wedding planners whilst we are out but if people could shed some light on the above would appreciate it. Cheers Chris

Hello Chris The weather in May is usually perfect. Typically in the 80's and sunny - also warm enough to eat outside in the evening. Couldn't think of a more perfect location than Bellapais in May for a wedding ! Many congratulations.

Unless you are very unlucky normal weather patterns in May should be perfect. It is the favourite month for many here as the weather usually is very warm and not as unbearably hot and arid as it can be from June into August. The scenery and garden flora are normally at their best in April and May.

May is usually warm and beautiful, but the later in the month you leave it, the better chance you have of perfect weather. Good luck to both of you, may you have many years of happiness together.

Depending on the number of people at the wedding, why be dragged around to other venues. Many couples stay at Kybele - have a cweremony there, the reception there, dancing there etc. If you book early enough you can get what you want. Ennis is very helpful, or if you want to use a planner they will advise you, but unless you want somewhere different, why put yourself through the hassle of going elsewhere, and don't let it spoil your holiday in May. Hope you find everything you want. and have a dream wedding.

Why have a wedding planner? Like life coaches another totally unnecessary carbuncle of the 21C. It is a misconception here in Kibris that you need someone to do things for you. Get your Kocan, get your driving licence, get your residency, pay the duty on your imported car etc etc I refer to them as touts! do it yourself its easy peasy. Ask your parents did they have a wedding planner? Our son is getting married here this year at Korineum golf Club, which has to be undoubtedly one of the best venues here. They do most of the organising as part of the package and the rest is so simple. Save yourselves some money and have a better honeymoon. You can still include the Abbey.

We agree with Hippo......Korineum is THE venue. Our family personally organised their wedding at this venue last September and what a magical day it was too. Stunning scenery with a mountain backdrop and facing the sea. Superb food, excellent service and their package is very reasonably priced. Good luck and many congratulations.

May would be an excellent month for any Man U supporter. You will not have to worry about a "Clash" with the FA Cup Final, nor the Champions League Final, both of which you would be aware, occur in May! After May 15th you will have guaranteed good weather. Have a great day. Korineum is without doubt in a different league (no football pun intended). Each year they get better and better. You could also have use of their brand new accomodation, swimming pool, etc. Just don't clog up the golf course! From a very frustrated Chelski supporter.

May is a lovely time of year to get married in Cyprus. We got married here on 18th May 6 years ago, the weather was perfect, not too hot for the older guests but warm and very sunny. We decided to do something a bit different and got married on Camelot beach and have a BBQ afterwards at our villa, it was a very relaxed day and very imformal. Wish you all the best.

there are so many beautiful settings in Cyprus for a wedding, and difficult to choose. Take a look and see what grabs your heart and also your pocket. some cost more than others. Korineum will look after you lock, stock and barrel, but it is not as cheap as elsewhere. Kybele at Bellapais is EXTREMELY popular and a wonderful backdrop for photos. it is really important that yoou decide whetheer you want sea, country, restaurant, hotel, beach or a combination. It is all there, but as it will be memories for life, choose what echoes in your heart. There is a huge variation of costs, so as I said, follow your heart and your purse. But if you want to use a planner, they are a good choice if you want more than one venue. Again, good luc k, be happy and remember that love conquers all.

Hi Manutd1 If you decide you do want to use a wedding planner to organise things that you may find more difficult by not living here and to take the stress out of organising your wedding so you can just enjoy the day, try: http://www.myweddingcyprus.com

The weather can be a bit hit and miss in May, we have some weeks where we have beautiful days and then it can change drastically. The evenings are still chilly and i would advise you tell your guests to bring pashminas or a light cardigan. There are some covered areas at Kybele Bellapais with beautiful views so if the weather does change you have 2 options. We are wedding planners where you can pick and choose what you would like help with. We would be happy to meet you when you are over for a free consulation. Good luck with your plans Angelic events : http://www.angelic-events.com
