| Buy new kitchen gadgets etc in UK to save approx £20-30 OK fine travelling to every store imaginable to get the best deal petrol consumption unknown ?
Buy new suit case to bring them back £35 ?
Ring airline to add extra baggage £18 ?

| It is the same when they come back from the shops and say - this outfit cost £200 but should have cost £400 so it has saved us lots of money....
.. but it still costs £200!!!!!! But as in Msg 1 - we do just love 'em!! |

| Gross generalisation, I'm the one who is good with money and it burns a hole in my other halfs pockets. Think it was down to my Mum encouraging me to always make sure I had my own money which would give me independence, being brought up to know the value of things and not waste etc etc. I have been a compulsive saver since I was a child and it has done me no harm, whereas most of my friends have huge wardrobes full of clothes they don't wear. They then ask how we were able to afford a house in Cyprus - easy I saved for over 30 years, didn't know what for, but it was great to have the capital when we made the decision to buy. |
