I have heard through a reliable source that it is between £600 and £1200. The variation in wage could be dependant on whether you are qualified or not (rather a few are not), whether you are taken for a mug or not, or whether they think they can get away with it or not. They are not reliable payers and will deduct amounts from wage packets without proper explanation and at their whim. Steer clear!!!!!!

msg. 3 What an irresponsible post. You are clearly saying that some teachers are not qualified with no details or proof. As for wages, I am a firm believer in liberal economy i.e. supply and demand. Otherwise you get the system we have in civil service i.e. 2-3 times more pay compared to private sector and do as little as possible. ismet

A qualification is not as good as many years experience - that is why most qualifications these days are 'competence' based i.e. competent at doing the job. One thing I have heard is that they promise a work visa, but some staff have worked for over a year and still not got their visa. They also change the 'verbal' contract as they wish = dont obey = get out!!!

If some of the teachers who post on here are qualified I wouldn't like to think they are teaching my children, spelling mistakes, no capital letters, no full stops or comma's.

But, unlike your good self, they know when and when not to use an apostrophe! HaHa! And just check the syntax in your own post (11).

You mentioned punctuation. That was one of your points in message 11, wasn't it? By the way "THEN the children will learn a lot THEN.." ? Looks like you suffered from some poor teaching!

I will not post any more comments on messages 11 & 13 etc. as these seem off topic to me. Any more comments concerning the original thread will be most welcome.

Message 4.....I presumed that message 1 was enquiring about salaries as he/she was interested in working at the British Academy and was merely giving a word of warning based on my own experience and knowledge. I do not need to give evidence Message 9....Yes, many teachers do not have work permits despite being promised. i wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that you can only get a work permit if you are a proper teacher! Message 10...they can only follow the English National Curriculum if they have teachers that have been trained in the UK. I believe ESK follows the NC. I thought it might also be interesting to point out that Doga College have recently pulled out of their collaboration with the British Academy. I wonder why??????? Letters were sent to parents blaming Doga for the problems. It might also be of interest to know that since the start of this academic year (September) at least 12 teachers have left the school at rather short notice or no notice at all.
