Our Builder has informed us that Kibtec have turned the electric off on the whole site (nine houses) as there are too many houses for 'builders' electric!!!

We nine residents are now in negotiations with Kibtec via, one other resident's brother-in-law.

Oh boy what next?

Been there done that. Seen the film, Read the book etc. Still waiting after nearly 10 weeks for connection. It's all a matter of money. Pay it up friont you get no connection. Offer to pay when the connection is finished. You get no connection. AOS situation.

Hi Robin,

Haven't heard from you in a while, are you their (N.C) or in Germany, so you are also without electric, this is very worrying as Kibtec really drag their feet.

Thank you Gates,

I am in the Uk, the site currently has no residence, so no elactric was being used, that is why we are having to go through a third party who is their to sort it out for us.

Thank you for the offer, would have taken you up on it if I was their.

Has your builder applied and paid for a permanent electricity supply and provided the infrastructure and transformer if needed? If so, then it is a matter of chasing Kibtek. They are usually very helpful. Ceyhun at Kibtek deals with the applications/plans at the Girne Kibtek office. If your builder hasn't done this, why not? If he's refusing, the owners of the houses on site should get together. You can employ a private contractor to fit the infrastructure and transformer yourselves, but obviously this will be at an additional cost for you all.

Thank's for the advice Kibrissibel, the problem were having is the builder hasn't paid the bill, say's he's so hard up they would not accept a cheque, we (all residence) are trying to sort it out, difficult when everyone of us is in UK. One of our residence has a brother-in-law who lives in N.C, he has been to Kibtec on our behalf.

Britvic we have, I believe the same aggressive builder. Yes he also told us he was financially weak. (Euphemism for "can you spare a few coppers for a cup of tea". We have a private contractor to do the work. but no cash up front no start, no pay all monies up front, no start. Compromise 50% now and 50% trust account at bank, payable on finishing, is apparently difficult for thecontractor to accept. Extra cost for8 Houses 16,000 GBP. Glad gald we had a watertight contract with our Design and developement company. Hope the Merc breaks down. (M Class has it's weaknesses. Very expensive spares)

Have a good christmas, hope you get it sorted.

Same boat, 9 houses on builders rate and builder has done a bunk.

Having to pay £2200 plus meter charge per house hold to get proper electric put in.

Kibtec now digging up road.

Only answer we found was to pay up front for transformer, hope things work you for you, best of luck.
