Ex pats & parting with money - why ?

Anyway

Many many people here have been cought out by rogue builders, rip off merchants etc etc, but yet we still give them more money to do jobs for us, we employ their brother in law or cousin or sister, or son or father to do our pools, our gardens, look after our homes. these self same rogues families live in the villages and have other businesses run by family, sometimes fronted by one or two Expats that they have kept on side so that they can bleed even more money from you, selling you water, hiring you cars, selling you food & drink, building walls, gardening, when there are good Expats out there who do a good job at a fair price

Why then are we not supporting them, or are we all afraid ?

Once again I court controversy

There are also a few Expats who rip people off also , so i surpose it is down to the individual to do there homework , i myself have been ripped off once and i am very wary now not to let it happen again , just do your research , go on recomendatiions , stop think and inwardly digest is my motto .

Can I just point out that we expats didn't just take all the best land, we bought it with our hard earned cash from Turkish & Turkish Cypriot builders and developers. We have also spent millions of lira in your shops and restaurants putting millions of lira in to your economy. We did employ your trades people to do jobs for us but what did you do? You took out mortgages on our homes and the trades people inflated their prices as soon as they learnt we were English, ripping us off right left and centre. Now we don't trust anyone except british tradesmen and who can blame us? You have only yourselves to blame for this.

Dear British brothers and sisters. You are welcome in TRNC. It might be an idea to keep an open mind as to some posts as they are not genuine and posted with people who have surreptitious motives. I dont want to say more. I actually doubt that some of the people posting are even actually Turkish.



As a Turkish Cypriot I welcome you to the TRNC. I think that the British people are the only ones in the EU who can relate to Turks. We thank you for this.



I just cant help wondering if some postings are done by people "batting" for the "other side". Also Turks were never Gassed.. and doubt a Turk would actually even say that..



So I hope as a Turk and Turkish Cypriot you accept my warm welcome

I think if you leave the age part blank it defaults to 1970 which makes everyone 38. For example, I'm actually 110 and my pic was one of the earlier sepia colour tints taken shortly before I embarked for Jutland.
