Broadcasters Sky and the BBC have, in separate announcements, given more information about how UK fans will be able to watch Formula 1 in 2012. The deal to split the coverage, announced during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend to the consternation of many fans, means that all races will be shown live by Sky next season. The BBC, who desperately needed to offload some of the cost of the rights to show the sport, will now have just ten live races, and will show extended highlights of the rest. Sky have announced that they will launch a new High Definition channel for their F1 coverage, which will broadcast for the entire season and feature other motorsport programming. It will be available not only to customers subscribing to Sky Sports 1 and 2, but also to all non-sports customers who pay for HD services. The satellite broadcaster also confirmed that there would be no advertisement breaks at all during the races.

Hi Eol I doubt very much because SKY will be trying to cash in on the oportunity this year (hence make ALL the races available only to SKY Sports & HD viewers..these are premium addons which require extra payment on top of the standard sub. Races (and practice sessions) announced as live on BBC will be available FREE to anyone with a 1.5m+ dish & a non HD SKY box or any FTA receiver in Cyprus.

Good morning Iceman Do you have an up to date list of all the channel frequency settings available for Sky subscribers? These seem to be changing on a fairly regular basis at present. We have HD and subscribe to the Sky Sports package. E.mail: yandjalfred@gmail.com. Many thanks

Hello Iceman. i have a link off a 4.2m dish you installed for Kevin in Karsiyaka. As we only visit in school holidays i am told we have now lost all the BBC channels. Can you please advise me of the best thing to do when I visit in April. Shall I bring my HD box and card and switch it over from the normal SKY box I have there so at least I have all the Sky Channels? Thank You Ian

Ian It would be the most sensible thing to bring your box+card from UK to use while you are here.

On SKY it is on Channel 408. We don't subscribe to SKY's Sports package, just the Family Package and also HD. The HD add-on (£10 pcm) gets us SKY Sports F1 HD at no extra cost. It has a good strong signal here in Famagusta, on a 2.4m dish. Geoff
