Hi, I have read recently that some people have lost reception of channel 4 and 5 and possibly ITV and that BBC may soon follow. Is this a temporary thing or are we likely to lose all the terrestrial channels. Does anyone have any information. Thank you.

ITV, channel 4 and 5 are still available, no BBC at all :( The BBC has moved to another satellite, ITV, 4 and 5 are available on "other channels"

Channel 5 is via a SkyHD+ box; it is 5 HD that you can get and not the basic channel 5. I am hoping for a fix for the BBC channel too. I mostly only ever watch BBC and love their drama's, Masterchef etc.... I asked on a previous thread if there is a freeview box or similar that can pick these up but have had no response. The only other way I am aware of Bertie is via laptop plugged into the TV ( I have Multimax that enables this, not aware of the internet providers) but sadly no where near such a good picture and I also get some buffering anf pausing and also not as convenient.

Thanks for the replies. Can BBC be picked up on other channels, is there a fix or is it not available any longer.

You will get the same channels on a 4m dish as on a 2.4m dish (east of island, e.g. FAmagusta) or a 1.8m dish (west, e.g. Girne). Freesat and freeview no go. You need a SKY sub + HD. To get: ITV1, ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD, ITV4 HD, Ch4, Ch5, More4, E4, etc etc. Total of 84 channels. BUT NO BBC ANYMORE. The only way to get BBC is via the Internet (several methods). Geoff Famagusta City

Hi Geoff, You say SKY sub +HD. Does that mean that these channels are available only through an HD box. What would I receive with a standard non HD box. I am aware that HD signals are stronger but have not upgraded either my box or TV at the moment. Thank for the information.

That is not quite true Geoff. You do not need an HD box to get itv1- itv+1 ch4- e4, & all the other sky progs.
