BBC News:

A senior banker with HSBC has been found hanged in a room in a five-star hotel, police have confirmed.

Christen Schnor was found dead at the Jumeirah Carlton in Knightsbridge.

Scotland Yard said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Danish-born married father-of-two Christen Schnor, 49.

He was found on Wednesday afternoon at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, west London.

A spokesman for HSBC said: "Our thoughts are with his family and we will do all we can to help them."

HSBC are quite a responsible employer. Their senior bankers live under immense pressure. I understand many of them live on the edge, but the bank provides psychological tests to measure their stress levels and provides an extensive and high calibre counselling service to ensure they do not self destruct. Obviously this guy slipped through the net.

The amount of hours I have spent waiting to be served in HSBC Girne TRNC and UK......................I thought about hanging myself or better still, the staff!

And most of all annoying when you phone their customer services in Mumbai, "Is there anything else I can help you with Sir"!? After you have complained about the bad service!!!

Yes, it is sad, not only for the person who felt they had

to do this, but the family left, who not only have to cope

with grief but the terrible feelings of guilt that they could

have helped the loved one. Doesn't matter what his job

was. Agree with Nige in this

At least it served to demonstrate Man's inhumanity to Man. Now that's as true in Cyprus it seems as anywhere.

As much as I have sympathy for this mans family..I do question why he was naked and in a wardrobe...sexual deviancy could play a role gone wrong in this ...just a thought.

I sincerely hope not for his family's sake!

The global meldown and HSBC bank's exposure to bad debt arising from the sub-prime mortgage fiasco will affect a lot of this boards members...

I agree that it is not Cyprus specific but are we that narrow minded?

I do hope not...

RE msg 24, Groucho : (...) Mickey, (...)

===> Who is Mickey? May I kindly suggest to all contributors to use the nickname as seen on the left side? Makes it easier for readers who don't belong to certain in crowds.

Dutch,

We hardly ever call you DutchCrusader but you know who we are referring to...

The only Mickey on this thread is the one who states "We all read and listen to the news" which is quite obviously, not true... and some of the people who do don't understand it... like you do.

I quite agree about the names DutchC. There are hundreds of posters

and we can't expect to know all the names and the nicknames. It does

smack of "incrowd"

He doesn't want that... does he?
