The dirty tricks dept are at it again. Previously a fuse had been taken out of the main meter at K5 and left in the box. When it was refitted the electric came back on. Today someone who says they were from Kibtec told a resident Kibtec were going to remove the meter. This did not happen but the fuse was taken out and left in the side of the box again. This time refitting the fuse did not work and n ow K5, are without electricity. Please remember these are old people, one is in his 90th year. How much more is this govt going to allow to happen to them. Irsen Kucuck said that under no circumstances were they to be cut off, it begs the question, who runs this country, the democratically elected govt. or the bank?

Have the British High Commission been informed of this latest atrocity so viciously perpetrated on these innocent souls? Even if the BHC is ineffectual, as has been so often the case in the past, this latest heinous act should be reported at the highest level possible.

pollymarples: Please keep us posted on this and your attempted retrieval of 'Laura'. It sounds like the BHC is 'surplus to requirements' - they should simply pull out and save the British taxpayers quite a few bob!

Polly, Did you speak to your advocate about this. He should consider an urgent application to the court for an injunction to have the electricity reconnected. You should also make representations at the highest level i.e go and have a sit in at the PM's office and let them remove you by police if they wish. It will make good headlines. ismet

It is a serious situation and at the moment I am trying to see if my union contacts have contacts with the Kibtec union, I cannot imagine the ordinary member of the union will approve of this. I understand that Boysan is putting in an urgent application to the court tomorrow. We have no evidence that it is being done legally through Kibtec that someone says they work for Kibtec does not necessarily mean it is the truth, especially bearing in mind who we are dealing with. I would not entrust my dog to them. We are very worried about Mike and Phil because of their age and they do not have even a small generator.

I hope the unions do something about it. It will certainly enhance their tarnished image of late. If they go and reconnect the electricity they will have the full support of the public. I presume that they are not in arrears with payments in any way. .Even so this would not be the right time for such an atrocious action. ismet

0392 8159881 is the number to ring - it has been tried, but they cannot answer any questions without either the address or, the meter number - they have advised that someone should telephone them tomorrow, in the meantime, has anyone spoken to MWJ - anyone local in Karsiyaka with a generator that they can lend to them ?

No elko not only are the K5 up to date with their payments, they have had to pay the bill for the Kader family who refuse to (using Pauline's villa) because it is all on one meter being builders tariff. Pauline has spoken to her Union contact who has spoken to the head of the Kibtec Union and they are going to see what can be done to help. There will also be a press release about the incident Front page of Afrika today, page 18 of Yeniduzen, page 16 Havadis, page 23 Kibris Star, page 8 Ortam, and two TV stations carried news of a press conference hosted by the Head of the Teachers Union, the subject the bank, their intimidation of Pauline Read and Tutuska's property fraud and Aga victims too. Also promoting the Stop the Blackmail in North Cyprus facebook group. Genc TV on Tuesday from 8.30 to 10.30 a.m, the recorded one hour programme for AS TV was aired and a two hour radio programme. From what I heard she careful with what was said.

How despicable ... there must surely be enough people in power with the moral fibre to stand up to these bank bully boys and put a stop to this now. If they care for their Country and people they surely cannot stand by any longer and watch whilst these crooks drag the country into the gutter. So sad for these poor people at K5 all they want is to live in peace in the homes they have paid for.

GOOD NEWS - today in court the K5 won I presume an injunctionagainst the bank cutting off their electricity. Let us hope that this is until the outcome of all the cases ois known. What I do know is JUSTICE is not certain here and certainly is not cheap so I think the sooner the K5 have an other fund raiser, the better.

good news abaout winning the case, but WHY WHY WHY do the ppeople of K5 have to keep paying out for lawyers for justice that should be handed out at government level, esecially from thosewho made promises - or is this just anotherway of getting these people to part with money they don't have!¬ I can't help but think of the Orams who had all the supposed backing, but who never received compensation! No further comment, other than to say well done to Ms marples and all those with the energy and stamina to keep up the fight against this appalling injustice.

There are at least 1400 potential mortgage victims here, there are hundreds of victims holding worthless pieces of paper called Memorandums which will not save these people from losing their homes, there are hundreds of people who cannot get their builders to finish their properties and transfer title, there are hundreds of people still after countless years on Builders tariff electric living in badly built homes and being further encumbered by a Govt that allows a many tiered tariff for electricity that costs no more to produce than normal tariff electricity, there are hundreds of people still having to tanker water in to their homes because the beledysi do not do their duty and provide metered water, there are demands for purchasers to pay the builders taxes in exchange for transferrring title. The list is endless hard working, honest people of North Cyprus deserve better. The victims of the property scams. Turkish Cypriot and foreigners deserve better.Keep fighting Polly Spider,

Spider, Your comment is laudable and supportive of Polly Marples but where oh where are the silent majority who are aware of this situation but sit back and nod waiting for others to fight what may also be their battle. This woman needs more than moral support, is it not time to come out of the closet and really support her by action.

An update. It was not an Injunction but a Court Order, ordering Kibtec to restore power to K5. This was issued by Judge Tancu. I am informed that such was the jubilation oustide the court, the K5 were dancing and hugging each other. A long way still to go, but a much needed victory on this occasion. Score one for the good guys. The bank will not be pleased and will surely be thinking up the next dirty trick. astro941, Pauline is not so brave, she gets very scared too and can understand that others may not be able to overcome their fear. She does what she has to do.

Hope this is a good outcome and the end of the wrongdoing being directed at these poor folk at K5. What a shameful thing to have done in the first place. I would have thought that many Cypriots would have been up-in-arms about it. Problem is - they probably do not even know about it.

I agree astro941 and now the bank whose hname cannot be uttered has put an advert in Yeniduzen (today) calling Pauline a liar and trying to discredit her. A bit rich, a bank who would make pensioners homeless and cut off their electricity trying to discredit anyone..... go figure. Methinks they do protest too much.

Apparently one of things the bank say in Yeniduzen is that Pauline is an undesirable in the TRNC, you have to laugh, Gary Robb a villian, drug dealer on the run gets citizenship, Pauline Read a victim of some unbelievable fraud, speaks up for herself, her greatest crime in the UK a parking ticket is considered an undesirable in the TRNC and this from the pen of it would appear Talat Kursat whose son representing this bank has an EU arrest warrant outstanding and was a co shareholder alongside Gary Robb in Aga Development Limited. It beggars belief.

Poor Pauline message 30 say's it all ! Bloody outrageous what's going on with the K5 and how they all are being treated. They all paid good hard earned money for their villas.Pensioners who came her to retire and enjoy the later years ! This is the just the start of what may well happen to hundreds still awaiting their deeds ! Being fobbed off by their builders and solicitors. If you are still in this position please support the K5 and Pauline you might need to turn to her one day in hope of some help yourself. As they say '' But for the grace of God'' Spider,X

setpot. I have no idea how they went about things. I rent and thank God I do. But our landlord could be one of the next victims ? and many many more. I hear people talking all the time also saying it can takes years once your permissions to purchase goes in ? Who know's what the builders and banks get up to behind peoples back once they have paid good cash ? Getting into debt with banks is my guess ! Then issing off never to be found and brought to the courts. But again and again these poor old folk are put through hell with the stress and worry. And now all this electric problems too. Spider,X

setpot, no they did not. They applied when they signed the contract, in my case that was Sept 2005 and PTP came through in June 2008, that is the norm here, no vendor is prepared to wait that long so tbhey sign to say they will not take out a mortgage during that time. lol

Pauline has had some of the article translated and itnis very clear this bank means to do Pauline some serious harm. They have accused her and her lover (their words) of mounting a vicous attack omn the men who broke into her home, both of us now apparently had baseball bats. Pretty good story since I was not even there until after they had left and Chris and a neighbour told me what happened. TRhey described my new home in detail and said they wer watching every move I made (like I didn't alreadhy know that.) These people are vile and intend to try to turn Turkish Cypriot public opinion against me in particular and the whole of K5. They said 10 m ore charges for my writing on the internet were coming and more to follow. Of course, they also said I was forcing the sale of three homes in Arapkoy making people homeless. That is news to me since nothing seems to be happening, hence my joining the other cases with K5. As far as I am aware, and my advocate told me, there was one....

piece of land and one house from an estate of a dead person, one house I did not know the details of and one on another site belonging to Abdurrahman Guney, the builder. Clearly I would prefer the piece of land and the Guney house to be sold and that should be sufficient to yield the £120,000, that is what I would prefer, of course knowing the system here, I do not expect it to ever happen which is why I am part of the K5 ongoing cases.

Well Gerry, the electricity should have been put on immediately since the court ordered it. Lilli - to know they now know where I live and to have them describe my home and admit they are watching every move I make, yes I agree it is terrifying. Also to have them drip feed Writs on me is also incredible and in my opinion harassment. I will only fight the first case, then I will issue Writs of my own.

After readong the apology in Cyprus Today to the bank, it is clear that no one is going to challenge the bank. No one has ever challenged the legality under current TRNC law but it seems that even to challenge the morality will not be tolerated. I for one am deeply disappointed in all that is happening.

Doesn't the government borrow several millions from TRNC Banks some months to enable them to pay the wages and pensions? You can therefore understand why the government find it difficult to criticise or regulate or punish the banks. Justice for all would be great - sadly corruption and justice do not sit happily together!

pollymarples So, you are saying that the norm is to break the law. It is illegal to purchases without permission. Once you had done that you put yourself beyond help. Why would you be so stupid as to part with £100,000+ when it was illegal? It doesn't matter that you were told "It's proceed in those circumstances was idiotic.

Setpot So it is illegal to purchase without permission, 'your words' Is it then illegal for Advocates to tell prospective purchasers that it is just a formality to obtain PTP's. How would the building and buying of property work as an industry if you have to wait years for ptp's. The said property wouldn't be available to purchase by then in all likely hood. Thousands were told this by Advocates, yet there is no redress to them.

well said Mindy but she is a plant probably of the vegetable variety, her aim is to get someone to say it is okay to break the law which clearly it is not. Do not break the law folks, without the law whether for or against us there would be anarchy. The law is the law is the law and must be obeyed at all times. Did you get that setpot.

Mindy Those people here who had the guts to say to their lawyers, builders and estate agents. I want to buy but I'm not parting with any money until I have permission to purchase and my deeds found that thing went through very quickly. Those who were daft enough to buy without permission to purchase (which is illegal however advised by anyone) (ignorance of the law is no excuse here or in the UK) ended up getting ripped off. What a surprise.

Pollymarples As everyone knows especially the K5, you are the problem. If it weren't for you all this would have turned out much better. YOU are the cause of endless problems with your attention seeking and self serving behaviour. Something you should know. You are NOT the centre of the universe, just the centre of your universe. Around November 2010 you wrote in that online newssheet: "I am not a journalist just a blogger." A couple of months later you applied for "journalistic accreditation" (any idiot can do that, no qualifications required) (just the fee) so you now have a little card and go around telling everyone you are a journalist. What a joke.

reading all this is so terrible. i am so glad i sold my property on the Sea Vista site in Catalkoy, as the deeds have been promised for 5 years now, the last date for them was November 2011, as promised by the Committee Chairman. I bet they still have not got them, and as i've said 10 of times before they never will get them, but no one believes you, to them you are just a trouble maker. The developer still owns everything up there including your paid propertie, I do hope this does not end up like the above, but the more time goes on i fear the worst. x
