Are you sure you mean RS232 ? This is the 'old' serial port specification (used before USB was around). I am not aware that there is any device that would put out video over RS232 port, let alone analog video signals that scart uses ? Do you mean VGA to scart maybe ? VGA is a 15 pin port (RSR232 would be 25 pin or 9 pin)? What are you actualy trying to connect to what ?

It is not so much that it is 'old' it is just that it (rs232) was never and is never normal used to send video signals. It is a serial data connection port, used for things like connecting old dial up modems to PC's , before USB replaced it. You still see rs232 connection on various devices like satellite recievers and even TV's but it is not a video connector, but usualy a means to connect a PC to the TV or Sat reciever to access service functions on the TV, or to access the sat box itself, not video signals. That is why connection rs232 to scart would seem to make little sense.

It will be easier to connect to the HDMI instead of scart. I can get you a cable for around 30 TL

Your computer will not put video out over rs232 port I am afraid, at least as I understand these things. I do not know what the product you link above would be used for but not for connecting video from a PC to a TV I suspect. What kind of computer do you have ? A laptop or a desktop ? There are various ways to connect PC's to TV's but it all comes down to what outputs you have on the PC and what inputs on the TV but RS232 would not be a suitable output from the PC as far as I know. It may be that you computer has other outputs that could be used or you could 'add' something to the computer that would provide a suitable output. If you could give more info on what computer you have and what TV then it would be easier ot give some suggestions. If the only input on the TV is scart , then the bottom line is it is probably not worth the cost and effort to connect the PC.

Hippo If you want to send video from PC to TV, you need to take an output from your PC's graphic card. Most up-to-date PC's have graphic cards with DVI output, which is basically digital video (without audio) There are DVI to HDMI cables on the market to make this connection.. If you have an up-to-date laptop that might have an HDMI output which makes the connection much easier and it does have audio also.
