| fryingpan It's a method that's successful to get rid of unwanted wasps too. Plastic bottle cut a few small holes about the size of a 1 lira coin around the middle of the bottle. Put in some chopped spam dusted with Lannate 90. Very effective but have a care with the Lannate it's highly toxic. Lannate in a solution of 1 teaspoon to 10 litres of water is also very effective at killing off black fly and other bugs on your flowers and fruit trees. |

| Mostly true but most locala use it as a non poisonous, purely mechanical insect trap and they put squid or octopus in it. As this rots, the pungeant odour attracts the wasps and flies which enter the bottle through the inserted pipe but then can't get out. If you get close up to one you'll see what I mean as the stink is really very strong and unpleasant but it's a tried and trusted eco-friendly method. Incidently, the same system is on sale in the garden centres of the south, made in China, of course, but horribly expensive at about 3 or 4 Euros per bottle. |
