Hip hop class available for children

My son is 7 and loves to dance. Popped down to join the GAU dance academy (very impressed with the set up) but unfortunately the hip hop class they have at present is half way through the term so the teacher suggested if I can find another 4 children to join she would start another class on Fridays at 4pm. The monthly cost is 100tl and from what I saw today it seems that it's worth every penny. They always hold a show in October that the children work towards.

I think the youngest today at her class was 5 so I think your daughter would be fine.

lixiechick, did you notice any other dance classes at GAU? Which part of the complex is the dance academy in and what is a good time to go. Sorry hiphop not good for us. thx

Hi pogle the dance academy is behind the main building on the left if you are coming from the dual carriageway, it is well sign posted so easy to find. I know they do ballet and contempory too but your probably better off popping in and seeing exactly what they have to offer.

My son did used to go the hip hop classes at GAU, but I decided to get him into something else as I was paying 25tl a session that only seemed to last between 30-45 mins! I used to set off early to pick him up from the class and he would already be out! I found it a bit of a rip off to be honest. I only pay between 10- 15 tl for classes for myself that last a good hour. Sorry to put a dampner on it, but I do think these people need to get a bit more realistic with their prices.

The prices are the same or I would say "more expensive" over the town. Look into Duet Academy or Cyprus Art. They charge the same or more for 1h of dance classes.

The dance classes at GAU are professional in all areas -the teachers are internationally trained and credited with diplomas. The education goes beyond hobby level and the first 3 students with B.A. are graduating from the university program this spring.

Look out for Top quality Dance Shows in June and July.
