I am sure everyone on this board will appreciate the changes that Terry Carter has brought to the TRNC and hope that his legacy is carried on through the 5000+ people that have been trained up under his guidance. He has transformed emergency services here in the TRNC dramatically. You deserve your retirement and enjoy your life back in the UK and hope you have a long and healthy one because if anyone deserves it you do. Much respect AJ

Terry, you have left an amazing legacy, I for one, remember how it used to be out 19 years ago and through your hard work, determination and your time you are a shining example of someone who has made a difference. We thank you.

Well it is becoming obvious that a lot of members of this board do not either know or appreciate what Terry Carter has put in place to make emergency care better for locals and expats.

Terry Carter should be awarded honary citizenship for all his hard work on behalf of the TRNC,and should be remembered by the use of a single no for emergency services to cover fire, police, ambulance and civil emergency,I would suggest 112, an appropriate accolade, thank you Terry you will be missed Stuart

Message 9 Well said and changing to a single number for emergency services would be a fitting accolade for Terry on his departure. Especially as this is the number that is free in the EU for emergency calls from mobile phones. So also good for tourists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/112_(emergency_telephone_number) Chris

| A true GENTLEMAN, if there were such a thing here, then Terry Deserves to be knighted for the services he has improved/started in the TRNC. It might be appropriate if he was awarded some honour from the UK government for his services to improving the ambulance service and the lives that must have been saved due to his diligence and commitment to teaching others and passing on his skills. | I have been saying for years that Terry should get some formal recognition for the service he has given the North Cyprus. Much as I would love to see him get a 'gong', I really feel that he deserves acknowledgement from the government here in TRNC. Honorary citizenship is the least they could do for him after the tireless work he has put into making this a safer place and the number of TC lives he must be responsible for saving with his improvements to the ambulance service. I'm sure if Mr Denktas were still with us, it would have been sorted before now! As well as being dedicated and completely committed to 112 he is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet and we wish him and Sheila the very best for their well earned retirement - you truely deserve it!!! But we will be very sorry to lose you!! Pam |

A truly dedicated man. He has freely given all those years of commitment to the saving of lives - we can never thank him enough. Perhaps a knighthood is in order. Knowing this lovely, unassuming man this would probably not impress him at all but to me he will always be a 'Sir'! Have a lovely retirement Terry and Sheila.

A man, among men, a true gentleman, a committed doer and an example to us all in the TRNC. Has done a fabulous job and saved countless lives, he should be recognised here. Terry, you will be missed, as a person and as an inspiration to all those trying to help in the TRNC. Hope you and Sheila have a great retirment, although I cannot see you sitting around for long and hope that you will visit us back here. Good luck to you both. Carole
