Mammogram today at Cyprus Life

Today myself and two friends had mammograms done at the Cyprus Life Hospital, Lefkosa. The lady did the mammogram then handed to me about 20 mins later the x-ray of same and letterhead with details of the examination on it and said "tamam", all okay or so I thought. On my way out I spoke with Huri the receptionist who speaks fluent English and I asked her to translate what was on the letterhead and she replied that I needed a further sonogram doing, so be warned ladies please. I now have to go back to Cyprus Life tomorrow to have sonogram done.

So pleased that you double checked and I sincerely hope everything is ok once you have your sonogram.

Is there any chance that you could give us the Turkish wording in your letter so we can check against the letters we received last year as I am now a little worried.

We had the mammograms through ladies check ups at Medikent/Cyprus Life. My friend made the appointment through nurseawful and you get a discounted rate. Hope everything will be okay Friday fingers crossed re the ultrasound.

It appears ladies that in trying to save you money I have created a problem.



Can I suggest from now on that all ladies pay for and have a consultation. This way there is someone to read the results for you and no incidents like message 1 can happen again.

Hi Spider, yes I was called back last year to have ultrasound. Sometimes the mammogram does not pick up everything so they do an ultrasound to be really sure. Hope to see you soon.

I am a little surprised here with regards to the consultation Chris has mentioned in message 9.



I would have thought this came in the the package price ! You were it seems lucky because you asked at the reception. What happens to the many that go home not thinking to ask, as you would think that this would be automatic . Do they look at the results and call people back. Do they tell you there and then everything is all clear. ? Not having been to one here as yet, as I was very lucky last year and had one at home Its just a simple question that maybe Chris could explain please. Thanks Chris.



So pleased everything is ok ,as last year again you had to wait a little while with the worry.

There is NO 'package' as such. If you read the thread on the Womens Health Week it offers a variety of tests at discounted prices. If you go anywhere else to visit a gynaecologist for example you will pay 100tl consultation fee before you have a smear and then often have to pay again for the pathology report.

it was set up at medikent originally so that it was affordable for the women.

Re your comment if there is a problem normally the ladies are told when the results are available normally 3-5 days for a smear.
