New Road Signs....

I have noticed in my local area (Lapta/Karsiyaka) that a lot of new road signs have appeared showing bends, t-junctions etc. Is it just this area (therefore presumably Lapta Belediyese) or is it more widespread?



On this point I do wish they would put up more speed limit signs - they show where a speed limit starts but rarely where it ends. For example as I approach the Lapta strip there is a 50 speed limit from which ever direction I come - but nowhere does it show where the 65 limit resumes and it is only because I know the area that I know the start point in the opposite direction and therefore where I can accelerate. But I have followed so many rental cars doing 50 for the next 10 kms because they don't know.

Speed limit de-restrictions! I asked a Turkish person about why there is a lack of these and got this answer: They are not needed because once you have passed a restriction sign you simply look out for the restriction sign (that faces oncoming traffic) on the opposite side of the road, then you know you are out of the speed restriction zone!



That saves on signs and is a simple "Cypriot" answer to the problem! I gave up at that point and just nodded wisely and agreed - back to the beer!!!!!!
