This is a very serious post! I have a very randy turkey named Jake that needs servicing, and something to take his attention away from me and the duck!! He's been on heat for a few weeks now and I'm hoping his strutting around is just him being frustrated and that if he has another turkey around he might become happier and more settled! Are there any members on this forum who are experts on keeping turkeys?

I don't think it will make any difference. I had a pair of turkeys some years ago and the male was always ' on heat '.

Thanks for everyone's comments, I thought it'd make a few people smile too! Well I'm afraid today he just became too much of a muchness and too much gobbling was driving us mad. Today he was introduced to our freezer!

If you phone someone who has a turkey, but won't lend it to you - tell him: 'Well, in that case, you can stick your turkey's head up my turkey's arse!' If they appreciate an Antipodean sense of humour, they then might relent and lend you their turkey!
