Do you do repair work to damaged block paving. We have lifted the paving following water damage but have not got round to re-laying. All the paving is good just needs re-laying properly.

When you say "Project Prices" what is included in the price of 28ytl? Does that include hardcore, sand, paving and laying?

Hi gillken. Absolutely. When you talk about hardcore though, I understand the "base sand". Any additional filling that require hardcore mechanic filler, JCB work and road roller work will have to be extra. The best thing is to look at the project first. Hope it answered your query. Thanks.

So normally you just lay the paving on the bare earth? Do you think that is stable enough? I note all over TRNC subsidence of pavements/roads due to unstable bases.

In UK we would expect a stable surface of hardcore without question. Yet in TRNC it is not the norm.

Lippylush have had water damage....if they had a hardcore base with appropriate drainage this would not be a problem.

I am not at all saying your finished work does not look good. I am just curious if it would stand the test of time without appropriate hardcore bases.

Hello gillken again...Just to clarify to you and other interested parties, here is how it works;

First, we measure the area and give you a quote based on your requirements,

If we agree to go ahead with the project, we clear the area from excess weed and minor rubble, than we lay a base sand approximately 8-10cm thick and compact it. Than we level the sand ready to lay the paving. We lay the stones, fill the gaps and use the compactor to level and secure the paving stones. Sweep off the excess yellow sand and the work is done.



If the ground required additional filling to make it level or straight than we will do the job once we get a go ahead from you. But under no circumstances we lay the stones on the bare earth.

If the ground requires drainage, we shall do that too in order to divert any rainwater to cause our valuable clients any inconvenience.

Thank you for clearing that up. It is as I thought. Whilst I do expect you do a terrific visual job. Because the sand is laid directly on the earth I foresee many problems. Especially if no drainage when the rains wash away the sand under the block paver. It does require a stone hardcore base for drainage and stability along with a integrated drainage system for surface water to channel away quickly.

Gillken, I am amazed the knowledge you have on this subject..Yes, we all do those procedures but it is optional. And what that means, it cost extra. But I can assure you that hundreds of projects that we done so far, there was no problem whatsoever.



Rain is known to wash away the sand underneath the block paving stones sometimes, BUT we utilize a special method to avoid that problem. As I said, working on your project while you posses such an accurate knowledge about the job will be fun...Why don't you call us for your project. We would love to undertake it. Regards
