hi everyone,

My question is about North Cyprus provisional driver licence. I registered at the driving school and I have been issued a provisional driver licence. Is it possible to use this to be driving a private owned car without any problems with the police or is it illegal?

If YES... what is required of me...

Go back and ask at the driving school then you know the information will be correct.

No,it isn't.Hence the reason they (driving school) holds it until you take your test......and pass.

Yorg, if it is not possible - ie illegal to drive a private car on the provisional license - why do I still see so many private cars with L plates on them?

What do you mean by a "provisional" licence? If you are talking about a "Learner's Licence", there are two conditions attached to it before you can drive:

1. You must have "L" plates on front and back of the car,

2. You must have someone with you with a valid licence.

PS: "L" means "Learner", "GB" means "Getting Better"

if its the same as the uk rules you need a qualified driver sitting next to you you cannot drive alone.
