So if this is hosted in the UK is the once a member always a member policy actually legal under the data protection act? there is quite a large part of this act that covers online personal data etc.



There have been some members in the past that have asked for thier details to be removed and memberships cancelled I was under the impression that under the terms the data protection act you can request this action.

Just for info there is nothing in the Data Protection Acts that gives people a right to demand data held by third parties about them is deleted. It gives indivduals the right and means to request what data is held about them and that it is corrected if the information is incorrect but it does not give the indivdual the right to demand the data is deleted.

Thank you for the clarification this is useful information for those in the UK who are not aware of the practcalities of the Data Protection Act.
