Larry do you know if they are still in the North and what info do you have on them i.e. approx ages, region of UK they're from ?

If you're still pursuing them for restitution, good luck.

This is a little worrying, Larry could you please give us a little more information on this couple? it's no good starting a thread like this and then just leaving people high and dry, just there ages, would be a start, seeing as though you have given us there names you could give us the courtesy of a little more information.

I agree with britvic. More information is needed. Why not post the address of where they are now renting or contact the agents or owners. Have you asked them to pay for the damage? Why not contact the Police.

was it the chappells or their pets that trashed the house...worrying if the chappells are chewing the doors..

What are the names of the people they are renting from? if you know the house, tell their Neighbours......

Brian, if they are doing this in rental property's, what else are they up to? a description would be nice just to be wary, they could say they are called any thing they like!

Sorry to hear of this. I know how you feel. I entered into a private arrangement to rent out a house in UK. They subsequently had a labrador puppy who ate everything even down to making two holes in the walls (down to the brickwork) in the hall. I was glad to see the back of them. Nearly £2k worth of damage to the house. We could never get into the house to inspect. There is a lot to be said for management agents, who at least inspect on a regular basis. If you are out of pocket in rectifying the damage, and you do know where they are living, I would put posters up, go around in a van with a tanoy in their new neighbourhood and shame them. I would also make enquiries within their new area as to the owner of their new rented property. At least that way, the new landlord is informed, and may insist on regular inspections. It makes you sick to think that people can treat your property this way, after all it was also their "home" for a short while.

All the best to you. x

Unfortunately, I think this is another "sign of the times". Some people have no respect for anything - other people, other people's belongings, etc.

As you rightly say, it makes you wonder what their home in the UK is like.

I sincerely hope you get this sorted out.

All the best for 2009

Jean

My advice if you are not in a hurry to rent your property take out references, take photo's of people wanting to rent your property. I was caught out a long time ago like this and have been wary ever since. If people have nothing to hide they will provide checkable references and will not mind having their photo taken. Yes, do take a good deposit. Sob stories are just that, sob.

If you think people are bad you want to see the damage a escaped Hamster can do.

There are two sides to every story, I know both parties in this dispute???? I visited the rental property recently and didn't notice anything untoward. It looked in decent nick to me. I don't like this kind of personal vendetta on these forums, it's sick in my opinion. Dave and Sheila - not very nice! I thought better of you!

ronaldo

How would we ascertain whether the original posting was a personal attack or not? How do we know whether Frontalman is carrying out a personal attack on the original poster? (although knowing Frontal I would very much doubt it). Would you want us to delete any post that was the slightest bit suspect? We would then be accused of over moderation. If you want to talk about your criticism of the way this board is moderated then please e-mail me.

A J

Are you real ??

If you do not think that this is a one sided personal attack

you must live in cloud cuckoo land !!!

It is a personal attack on some body. Simple !

A one sided story that should have been deleted straight away

And you wonder why people have a go at the moderators !!
