Jimbo,

Will let you know the latest on the proposed course, when I am next in touch with Troy Lake. Will be a while yet I think as the villas will hopefully be finished first.

Take it easy.

Fresh off the press Jimbo, as promised

A reply from Mr Hassan of Troy Lake (this will add to the value of the villas for sure) read on. Tiggy.

Hello Patrick, We have finally been allocated 55 donums of land by the government around the Othello I & II site that infact is now POSSIBLY large enough for a 18 hole golf course with club house. The timescale for this at present is at least 2 – 3 years but it will now definitely be going ahead.

The new web site will carry all this type of information for you Patrick.

The amenities are still indoor swimming pool, gym, small market, tennis courts, kids play areas, basketball courts, lake area, cafeteria and much more planned in and around the surrounding area. For example lets not forget the beach front that we will maintain for our residents and also the beach bar!!

Unfortunately as of yet the underpass has not been signed off and given the go ahead but that’s just a matter of time.

Hope this helps

Hi guys,

If this is true and there are talks of plans of a golf course being built then you need to factor into the equasion the following first:

Outline Planning and permission is a lengthy and time consuming process- so allow 1-2 years for this at least!

Then allow an extra 1-2 years for detailed planning consent and licences!

Then add into the equasion the fact that once they do start to build - a Golf course takes 3-4 years alone to build !!!

SO if the golf course goes ahead then realistically you will be looking at no sooner than potentially 6-8 years till you can T-OFF Oficially!!!

Sorry to be the bearer of pesimistic news but thats the reality of building a golf course complex!!!

Also coupled with the fact that everything in NC seems to take twice as long as expected and there are always huge delays as everthing in NC takes so much time to do!!

Take care all-D

Korineum Golf club took 3.5 years from inception to first tee off. So it CAN be done!

Dear all,

I'm just letting you know what I have been told. The Course has been in the idea stage for sometime now and now that land has been released we will have to wait and see how long it is till the first ball is hit down the fairway!

NC is a funny place with buildings/planning etc.....may well be light-years away or in the very near future! Forget about 3 - 4 years alone to build it.......the greens are the longest thing to do, the rest is just grass cutting and laying down some sand bunkers! .

Personally I like the land to stay the way it is. BEAUTIFUL.

Mr Hulk.....Par of course I have played the game. Would rather if it is not built on at all, (selfish bugger) but a 9/18 course would be better than more houses etc.

Mr Hippo...... from talking to the main contractor and receiving e-mails(Troylake) the course is going to be built........Change the green jacket!

Dont think so there was an acticle here a couple of months ago that the prospective golf course over there had been shelved owing to not being able to secure the land required.

if its different very good news we need more courses, but i wouldnt buy your clubs just yet
