Can I suggest you post a list of the actual channels so people can compare what is on offer. If the channel list is suitable for people, this could prove a very cost effective option, particularly for holiday home owners who do not want monthly subscriptions (like 2 of our neighbours).

I think you are slightly optimistic with your channel list of 28 "english" speaking channels.. quite a few of the Channels you mention often have more Arabic than english language content .. ignoring the ads..



..also you shouldn't suggest that you don't see repeats very often.. example MBC channels can broadcast the same movie / soap / drama action twice a day !...



If you can't stretch to / haven't the space for a SKY system with the free BBC/ ITV/ C4 / Five "free to air" ( unencrypted ) digital channels this is a good alternative ..







500 Lira??? ..is import tax SO high, there?

hi blackpool fan the guarantee you have is to come and adjust anything that is clearly a installment error anything weather wise is a call of nature. We call ourselves pronto and that it will be, when you call it will be very soon after.

Hi mmmmmmmm in answer to your message, i have nilesat installed in my own home, any tv including our british tv repeats to an extent i should have been clearer to say repeating films all month long. Nilesat does not repeat all the time over and over again.Also yes it is 28 english language channels, its arabic tv of course there will be arabic ads, come on i think your being negative for the sake of it. Im london born cypriot from the uk and feel it is perfectly enough. As in anything you get those who dont like and those who love. Not had a complaining customer to date, people i see daily.

I DID say that if you couldn't would install a 4.2m that Nilesat was a good alternative ! ;)



I had it at my place in Limassol along with 7 other dishes.. .. and found I often watched MBC4 over the HUGE selection I had from SKY and the UK freebie channels ( BBC, ITV, etc on the 3.8m I share out with neighbours), and the 6 other satellite dishes we had..



I just think you need to be absolutely clear re the content language - not all of the channels you mention broadcast in English ( and I'm not referring to the ads) e.g MBC 1, 3, Gear One..



After a while I didn't notice the Arabic subtitles anymore..!



Of course with a showtime package on your nilesat system you should have all you need...



I'm surprised more folk don't buy 1.8m systems and SKY sat receivers in Cyprus as one can get most of the SKY channels and BBC News 24, BBC radio (excl 5 live ) Five, SKY 3 (most of the time ) ... for approx £20 / month.. HD brings in channel 4..



No subs.. nilesat!

Agid at the satellite shop in Lapta 100 yards down the turning opp JK's bar is installing Nilesat for 400 lira, guess its the same set up but could be worth checking out.

Sorry Turkan have only just seen your reply to me. By lessons I mean in customer relations and service. As I said they promised to replace my box months ago and we still do not have it. Their system constantly freezes up or shuts down to a green screen and we have to reset it at least three times a day by turning it off at the wall and back on again.

If all the Services 401 select ( engineer menu) functions can't fix it.. then try opening the box and disconnecting the Hard drive



if THAT doesn't work.. then you are looking at a repair / replacement..
