While we're all in a good mood on the forum today can I ask a question?

Last year I purchased a Turkcell sim card for an old mobile to use while in residence in TRNC, does anyone know whether you are cut off from the network if the phone isn't used for a long period of time? I will have been out of the country for 6 months.

Thanx

Andrew

Yes....not sure about the length of time, but the same happened to me last year..

You do get a message on your phone screen to that effect, but obviously it's in Turkish !

No Andrew, but you cant use it until you buy more credit and then it is added to the credit you had before.

Thanks guys,

I brought the phone home with me thinking that I could use it every so often to keep active, not realising that you can't get a signal in South Yorks.

I'd better hunt out the Turkish phrase book.

Suntanman....don't bother with the phrase book.

Just call in at one of the plethora of mobile phone shops in Girne centre and they'll sort you out.

Andrew your number will go into suspended mode after 3 months of non use your credit will still be there and will show when topped up which also actives the phone. We always bring a top up card back to England and top up when we land.
