the thread http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/9235.asp brings another question how much can you eat in a day, most places expect you to eat and get the face on when all you want is drinks? whats your exprience?

We can no longer afford to eat out as we used to and probaby only do so once a week if that. I get very disappointed with the quality of food when we try new places, and feel I can cook better and cheaper myself, and so tend to stick to places that we have tried and tested before. We also just go and have a drink in these places without a problem, as they recognise that any custom is good custom, eating or not. Bums on seats and all that.

we usually stay with eating in the local places with the cypriots. they don't have a problem even if you pop in for coffee.

When we come out, try to spread our custom around a bit and try to eat where the locals eat as much as possible. Must also agree with message 2 - Mr Wick is an excellent cook and we too feel we can eat better and, obviously, cheaper than we can in restaurants. This applies not just to NC but the UK as well - more so in the UK. Having said that, we do enjoy going out to eat as often as possible.

Liz - check your e-mails You are welcome to our humble apartment in Alsancak when we are over any time - give you a break and Paul is an excellent cook. Problem is, although our living area in the apartment is huge, once the oven's on, even with the a/c going, it's like a sauna. How about a barbie on the balcony? PS There will always be plenty of booze. Love Paul and Jean xx
