Paying or not,the fact is they could have easily refused to supply the gas but they didn't. Same situation we had with electricity last year...they did not have to,but they supplied electricity at a cost when we were desperate. When you live on an island the term "money talks" does not necessarily apply (specially if the other side is supposed to be the enemy)

daveb, I don't think Iceman believes the other side is the enemy and in fact I know he doesn't because he is a Turkish Cypriot refugee from the South who lived, grew up and went to school with GCs. He knows Cyprus and the Cypriots.

Daveb we live on an island and our options are very limited at times of crisis. You should have noticed by now we have plenty of outstanding issues with the Greek Cypriots,so a normal trade relationship is out of question. Besides....Turkey or the army wouldn't have allowed this if it wasn't absolutely necessary. The earliest gas from Turkey is expected at the weekend. As stated this was for humanitarian reason rather than trade..

lovingCyprus re msg 7 TOTALY agree, and Iceman ( as a TC) couldn't have put it better.. but don't you agree the title of the thread is JUST as "silly" and seemingly from someone not "clued up" about Cyprus?
