Another victim of the economic downturn Bar 11 has shut up shop, dont know if it plans to reopen for summer, hot info from the cook who is looking for work.

Well I really hope that it doesn't open again. It was one of the reasons for moving back to the UK. Pity it didn't close 12 months ago....I may still be there!



It also means that my friends may at last be able to sell there property that they've had on the market, without people saying, "I didn't think you were that close to Bar 11. I've heard about that place."

I'd also ensure that I bought resale or a new property that was already complete with water, electric and roads into the site.

when I spoke to him in the summer, the manager of bar 11 that is, he said he that he was going to close for 5 or 6 months a year as the takings weren't worth it for the winter months.

It was me! That place was the final straw that broke the camels back. No proper sleep for 3 months caused strain within my family and so we moved back to Manchester.



Myself the wife will return once our kids have left us and, hopefully, by 2015 we will be on our way back to the TRNC to live out our 2nd retirement.



By the way, my neighbours have taken their property off the market now that the area has returned to a peaceful haven for those who seek quiet but still want fun. The fun being supplied by The Fez who's house policy on finishing times for parties is more than acceptable or if they have a request for later opening then they inform the neighbours that for a one off occassion it will be happening. That is the action of a proper business person who lives within a residential community, unlike the owner of Bar 11 who PAYS local officals so he can have a 1am music licence any night he wants to.

Casting my thoughts back to early 2007 i remember going to a launch day at bar 11, it was packed,they gave out a token for a free drink on arrival.

there were several of the local entertainers performing,seemed like a great day.Been down a few times since spoke to the owner,he seemed ok.

Having said all that my property is far enough away out of range of the noise that members are clearly distressed about.

As far as i know still the same people but i believe the reason for shutting up apart from the lack of trade was to try and start afresh i personally hope it works for them and the bar becomes part of the area and not the trouble spot it was the competition can only be good for us punters a couple of bars around catalkoy were getting a little to smug (fez,paradise)
