Anyone know the latest on this? It was reported last year (2008) that Asil Nadir had done a deal to take over the airstrip and invest millions to upgrade it.

Driving past the place recently I see no signs of works going on. Maybe the project has been shelved due to the world economic crisis?

It it had got off the ground ( no pun intended) it was going to be used for freight only. Well that was the story at the time.
