Please can anyone help us? A young Pointer bitch pup, approx 6-7 months old, has turned up in Bahceli and we urgently need to find her a loving, caring home. She is brown and white in colour, has a lovely temprement and looks well fed and healthy. Unfortunately, KAR are unable to help as they already have too many dogs needing rehousing. She is being looked after where I work but my boss ınsists she has to go to a home or she will be taken to the vets to be put to sleep. THIS IS NOW URGENT - PLEASE HELP US!! The dog now answers to the name Holly and has been bathed, de-flead and wormed. Please can someone help me to rehome this pup? Telephone me on 0533 843 0622. Thanks Jayne

Quarmby try as hard as you like but I will not reveal a confidence, I repeat what I said weeks ago, I hope you don't hold secrets from your friends, cos it seems you think it is acceptable to break a confidence.

i agree with you dee, many times here i have been asked to break a confidence regarding info i have been given and tried to help others with. and taken the slagging for it. the truth is sometimes its just not worth trying to help them!

Message 7 - no, I would hope that no vet, anywhere in the world, would put down a "healthy" animal. However, the general concensus of opinion (not mine, as I do not know enough about the situation) is that vets here do not put down starving, injured animals. It is pathetic to see these poor creatures wandering the streets. They scavenge for food, naturally, and a lot of them end up being poisoned - a dreadful, painful death. I know this is a very emotive subject; I, like many others, am an animal lover. Hope this explains why feeling here run high. Jayne - do keep us posted - I'm hoping and praying you'll find a good home for the pup. Jean

hi the wicks we have a bitch staying with us right now. she is a rescue and now english owned. truthfully i have never seen any dog with such a broken spirit. i cannot imagine what she must have endured in her early years. i know her owner gives her loads of love and cuddles, as we do. it is a dreadfull situation here with dogs. most people end up taking on one or more , and kars and bark do all they can. the trouble is that every time the bitch is in season, they are mated with. hence soo many unwanted animals. the goverment needs to get a grip. i have also seen recently the disgracefull ear tagging. large bolt adjoining the plastic tag, is a disgrace. microchipping is simple and cheap. something we are getting a local vet to put forward to the right people and hopefully things may change, but don't hold your breath!

Firestarter, I would never reveal a confidence no matter what but it seems there are some that think to do so is acceptable. The dog situ here is appalling, I had to take Krall our adopted dog to the vet late last night as he was shaking violently and very unwell, we thought he had been poisoned but the vet wasnt sure as he didnt get worse, he is fine this morning and has to go back for his checkup, I think he probably ate a tiny piece of poisoned meat and because he is a big dog it made him very ill but wasn't fatal. As you know I am not a supporter of KAR..IMHO they should never turn away a dog but they do, they say they haven't room, I just dont accept this, if the woman who set KAR up cannot provide a full service then maybe she should rethink her position and strategy, but of course she won't..if the dog problem here was sorted there would be need for donations hmmmm. Would Battersea dogs home turn away dogs ...NO.. The law here needs to be changed on animal welfare,

sadly there are many more pressing problems to deal with and the dogs again sadly take a back seat.. I have been criticised for my remarks on here by the liberal bleeding heart brigade who mostly do not even live here but give their measly donation once a year to KAR and think they have the right to judge me and others like me. The only solution at the moment is euthanasia, it is kinder than letting these poor neglected souls roam the streets hungry and desperate to cause car accidents and scare innocent children and ppl, there have even been reports of attacks on ppl, it is both frightening and worrying and everyone suffers. End of rant

Dee Where do you live? I have just started another thread about poisining in Karsiyaka that has killed 10 dogs. Just wanted to know so people are aware where it is happening, so we can all be even more careful when out with our dogs.

Amber we live in Arapkoy and I have to say we have our fair share of poisonings here. This is another reason why I keep harping on about euthanasia, if there weren't so many strays the poisoning will hopefully cease.

Dee, No it was my friends dog that was killed last Friday in Karsiyaka. One of 10 that day. A truly wonderful dog - best friend you could ever wish for. The one at your vets now makes it 11 - disgusting.

This is why this situation needs to be taken in hand, and again why I think KAR should do more, what is the point of setting up a charity if you are going to turn dogs away, altho I know they will come out for a sizeable fee..what a joke they are. I have been told on here that it is policy that they don't euthanise and I have asked whose policy, cos it isnt the government or the tc's or the vets..so who ...I will tell you, the bleeding heart brigade who don't even live here and dont have to witness this awful practise...wish I could poison them !!!
