why i came to this board (cyprus44)?

When i came, first , to this board it was to get :



my way from larnaca airport to girne - i got it -

have information about electricity and kibtec - i got it - and i thanks the one who gave me informations -

then , i try to inform, as much as i could, some people of my little knowledge, try to help and now i realize that there are " funny" posts coming through and closed down by moderator !!!



people are writing for the sake of writing ! maybe everything has been said in this forum -



anyway, thanks, simbas, ukturk, and others !

I also came o this board for information on N Cyprus - the best shops to go to for certain things, info on telephone service, sat tv, internet etc. Every query I've had has been kindly & quickly answered by forum members. I've also enjoyed the jokes, stories and news items that folk have posted but probably the most important thing I've got out of Cyprus 44 is a better understanding of the Cyprus 'problem' and regular updates on how it's being solved.

Yes there's a lot of stupid, irrelavent posts and there seems to be a lot more being closed down or moderated but it's still (imho) the best board by far!

Thanks for all your help forum members & long may you keep going!!

I heartily agree with yours and Sylvie's sentiments.



This Board is still the best one stop shop for all things North Cyprus.



It has its problems,particularly recently,but nothing insurmountable.



The vast majority of members are honest,courteous,helpful,decent people.



Some members may "leave",for their own good reasons,but when they realise that the grass isn't always greener on the other side they will return...and should be welcomed.



Anyway....I'm rambling...time for my third coffee !

I like this board because;



It provides me with information about the trnc, where I own a property.

It provides me with laughter because of the jokes/banter.

It provides me with a sense of togetherness with other like minded people.

Exactly! well said No1Doyen and it's still doing all these things so why are so many members saying it's 'had it's day'?

Surely there's room for the banter along with the serious stuff & I for one have made lots of new friends through this board so maybe some people should stop knocking it and make more positive contributions (including the jokes!)

I think some people are getting a little fed up with the board and the natural evolution path it takes, this is what happens in life good bad strange and situations that present themselves in funny ways.

Just go with the flow.

I joined the forum in 2007, when very new to the N Cyprus experience.

It has been invaluable.

Whatever question I have asked there has always been an answer, and often within a minute or two.

It can be serious, light hearted and very very informative.

I have made so many friends, both here in UK and in TRNC through 44, and am grateful for everyone's help and advice over the last two years, and hope that I can also help newcomers with the limited knowlege I have of N Cyprus.
