Ok, you didn't mention if we could criticise your arithmetic or the state of your memory..

..this is your *8th* post :D

Have a nice one - and if you find the DodgyTurk shop - ask 'em about the very nice Pace sat receiver that works like a SKY plus...

Sorry, can't help re the suit, but I hope you enjoy the wedding..

Was I gentle enough for you ?!

There's a tailors shop down in Girne on one of the roads leading down to the sea (great directions eh?),and he has a dummy in the window dressed in a suit made of Rupert Bear check material!

Don't be put off, he uses this as an advertising gimmick.

I haven't had one made myself but I've heard he's good...decent quality and quick.

Hi Kelvin,

Go down the main street in Girne, from the square with the big TV in and when you get to the cross roads turn right. Head towards the sea, there is a material shop on the left hand side of the street about half way down. I have had trousers made there and my husband has had a suit made there. All ready for fitting in 3 days and complete in 5 days. Good luck.

Hi Kelvin

My husband and a friend have had suits made by the tailor recommended by Cronos. It is called Pirlanta and the tailor calls himself Uncle Dave. Both suits came in around the £200 mark and were wool/cashmere mix. This price was at the higher end of the scale but it was a couple of years ago now. My husband's suit is very good quality and as you would expect, fits superbly. He also had some shirts made and these cost around £50.

I agree with No1Doyen, the best tailor is in Lefkosha is Osman, he has made many many outfits for the military & his shop is full of photographs and awards. He doesn't supply the material but he will tell you how much to buy & there is Adem just down the road. My OH has just had a cashmere mix suit made up, cost £420 made to measure including the material & believe me my OH is fussy & he loves it. He won't go anywhere else now he says.

Yes I forgot to mention that Mr Osman does not provide the material. I too use Adem for purchasing material.

If you really want to push the boat out, you can get a pair of hand made shoes

just around the corner, opposite the Dome hotel, for £80.

Hope you enjoy the wedding.
