Perhaps Busy Bees you might try selling in Gaza? 'Excellant investment potential. New marina under construction.' About the same possibilities? 'Miles and miles of deserted beaches' I wonder why?

Juliet. I do not wish to be involved in political conversations on this or any other board. However, in answer to your question, the situation here in North Cyprus is political. Any potential buyers are always put in touch with legal firms here in the T.R.N.C for confirmation of the situation. I firmly believe that North Cyprus still offers a huge investment opportunity, and I have to say, that this is backed up by more than 50% of our business in 2008 coming from English living in South Cyprus looking for the original Cyprus that they found maybe 15 years ago in the South before intense over development took place. Unfortunately I do not have a crystall ball, and cannot predict the outcome of any talks, but I am confident that North Cyprus will thrive where most other countries now are suffering. If a solution is reached, then prices in the North will eventually, in our opinion, match those in the rest of the Med. This makes North Cyprus, always, a firm investment.

Busy Bees But then you would say that wouldn't you? I have no wish to pick an argument with you but advertising on a BB such as this opens you up for constructive criticism. Your credibility is rather stretched in my eyes by your simplistic answer of : 'Any potential buyers are always put in touch with legal firms here in the T.R.N.C for confirmation of the situation.' Need I say more or perhaps others might point out the pitfalls of that?

Dear Hector, I thank you for your post. I only feel that it is fair and right for anyone looking at purchasing in North Cyprus, that have any questions, to be put in touch with a legal firm practising here. I have been advertising on this board for over a year now. I would welcome anyone that has any complaints to come forward. I am an honest person, and have so far had no complaints against my agency. I would suggest that everyone keeps their trust in the country in which they have invested in. I love North Cyprus. I hope everyone else does too.

I have tried on here before to put the point that not all estate agents are crooks and rip-off merchants so to that end I think you may be onto a hammering on this board Mrs BB. Good Luck

I have been to Busy Bees offices on several occasions and have found Maria and her staff always more than helpful and not 'pushy' as most agents are.I have not purchased through them as I already have a property but I am always interested in looking at properties and comparing.I always make this clear when I go to Busy Bees office but they are always polite and what is more inportant is that they are genuine in helping me despite the fact they realise I am not going to purchase.Probably the most honest agent in the north!!!!

Jim.....your English is much better than my Turkish but I think something is getting lost in translation here. I don't think anyone is questioning the integrity of Maria and yourself,or the quality of your developments. What they are questioning is the wisdom of buying ANY property in North Cyprus because of the uncertain political future, and the fact that the legal framework and Goverment bureaucracy in the TRNC does nothing to help foreigners buy their dream home.

Gary Robb, Orams case in the ECJ, Amaranta Valley, Refusal of permission to purchase, rip offs, cons, Troy Lake, builders refusing to hand over kocans, racist government policies, peoples lives ruined, peoples life savings lost, dogs poisoned, litter, traffic accidents, 19% inflation, incompetent/corrupt lawyers who owe no duty of care to their clients etc etc etc Yep TRNC is certainly an money making opportunity, unfortunately not it seems for the unfortunate buyer.

Oh and do estates agents mention the current Orams case & it's potential devastating financial effects to clients when looking at former Greek (exchange) land and the current UK government warnings on buying property in the North? http://www.observercyprus.com/observer/NewsDetails.aspx?id=3417 Thanks to a previous post for this link.

Hector You dont give any credit to buyers that come here . They come preloaded with questions about the situation here ,it is the dodgy estate agents that feed them cr--p you have to be wary of.At the end of the day it is the buyers choice to decide wether or not he/she wants to make the move.

barnaclebill I also came 'preloaded with questions' unfortunately not the right ones it turned out. Of course it would also help if 'lawyers' advised on what questions to ask and could be trusted to act in their clients best interests (and not the builders if they also happened to be their client) rather than now saying that they only do what they are told by their client (who they expect to know what the law and procedure is) and don't owe any duty of care. I agree about estate agents. Whilst it is the buyers choice whether to buy, it would be better would it not, to at least have those who you would hope to tell you the truth i.e. lawyers & estate agents, doing so?

Yes I agree but we live in the real world .I came here 5yrs ago with no questions in hindsight naive, bought a property within a week, had a cr--p solicitor,cr--p estate agent and since have had my Kochans sold the property and now live in rented property. How did this come about ,by finding the good solicitors and the good estate agents and sound advice by friends.I would still recommend my friends to come out here lets face it the UK isnt a nice place to live anymore and if we all helped these people that want to start a new life out here then the bent solicitors/estate agents would go out of buisness.

Hector With respect mate you are tarnashing everyone with the same brush because of your own experinces just because you didn't ask the right questions. You have to be prepared i for example paid £100 in the uk to speak to a foreign property lawyer in the uk so i had it written down what to do and what to ask. Bought 4 apartments no problems so far maybe im lucky? Despite the pitfalls is it still better than the uk...........

Busy Bees, Good luck to you free advertising on the board so maximise it. A lot of questions asked are relevant and some are negative crap so you need a thick skin. Just one point i have marketing experience and your testimonials and banter from "jimhasip" did you no favours as a company at all cheap, tacky, and not a wise move in my opinion but good luck anyway.........

Hi Blackpoolfan, 1. You say you've bought 4 apartments? Are "we" allowed to do that ?....I thought it was limited to one property each(even a married couple being counted as one entity) or one donum of land? Did you have to buy in other people's names or did you buy and then sell before you could buy the next one? 2. Regarding the "jimhasip" thing.....I couldn't agree more.I'm sure his intentions were well meaning but that sales pitch would have been counter-productive if I had been looking for a place over in Bogaz !

Dear Blackpoolfan and all Thanks for your kind words. I would like to mention that our company and others actually pay to advertise our Companies on this board, and support it. Yes, thick skinned you have to be! All we want to do is offer a good service to clients that are looking to purchase on our side of the Island. Simple as that.!!! Thanks to those who have supported this thread, it has as often does, spiralled out of control!!! We understand peoples frustration, and can only do our best for the future. Unfortunately I cannot put right others wrongs. Blackpoolfan,,,,Bogaz is on the East Coast of North Cyprus. Lovely fishing village and great toasties!!! Please feel free to call in anytime if you are in the area. If anyone has any questions please contact us direct, I feel this thread should be left alone now!!!!! Thanks. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone, and enjoy North Cyprus.xxx
