Can someone tell me what sort of weather I could expect if I were to come over in May? Have only ever been June, August and September.

Hi icklepix,

The weather in May is lovely. Not too hot but hot enough for tee shirts and shorts and the pool is warming up nicely. It is comfortable to sleep at night without air/con, if you open windows. If you visit at the beginning of May, the wild flowers are still out.

Hi icklepix , weather usually lovely in april / may going on past experience .Like you i am bitten unmercifully every time i go , but more so in sept / oct .Tried the usual , and the skin so soft ect , to no avail . But this time i will be armed and ready for battle . With my tried and tested citronalla filled bracelets and anklets , now they may not look all that sexy , but i'm well beyond that stage now anyway . Also i have the 5-1 plugs which again tried and tested . I am feeling fairly confident at this moment in time .

Bring Them On

Good Luck , Simbas

April is a little different - it is usually very nice - warm and sunny (70-80), but you can get the odd rainy day as well. The big difference is that in the evenings you will be eating inside in April - outside at the end of may, and you will need fleece / jacket in the evenings as well. Still a very nice kick-start to spring though !

Have you tried Boots own make mossie cream or spray,it is the one in the siver tin.

My sister in law gets bitten dredfull this is the only thing that stops them,I think it is the veet content.

Sorry to get away from this thread, back to the weather. x

I am getting married here at Bellapais on 29th April and chose this month as very comfortable weather.

Knowing my luck I will get the one rainy day we have in April!!!!

I am coming over for a week mid-February to stay in new apartment for first time. Can anyone tell me what the weather will be like? Are mosquitoes around at that time?

February can go either way - we were there mid Feb 2 years ago and it was 20 degrees and sunny - quite wonderful. Last year some of our friends were there and it didnt stop raining ! We are also going in 3 weeks time, so I hope our luck strikes.

- Jayne - Bellapais Abbey has to be one of the most fantastic places to get married in ! 29th April is also our wedding anniversary (and our youngest sons birthday !!) I am sure the sun will shine for you - maybe we will see each other in the future at some point having respective wedding anniversary dinners at Kybel !

Lovely to know I will be sharing my day with someone who also thinks Bellapais is a magical place!
