I have just learnt that the TRNC govt. have reduced the tax for property completions due for three months. I welcome members views on their experiences on these proposals. regards,Steve

There seems to be a lot of these type of 'reductions' lately. There was one recently about a 75% on the Transfer Tax.

Do you think the government are trying to get as much money in as possible before the talks have concluded?

Hi see http://www.hbpg-trnc.net/documents/tax_transfer.html

This is for transfer tax, which means that you must have your PTP and the kocans must be ready to transfer and the land owner willing to transfer to qualify for this reduction.

Our builder took advantage yesterday to pay the taxes he was due to pay although we do not have the certificate of completion or permission to buy.

Does anyone know if we can pay the taxes due on transfer of title at the lower rate now and take the risk we will get permission ?

Tonykyte - sadly you can only pay the transfer tax at time of transfer of the deeds so if you don't have your PTP you won't be able to take advantage of this.
