If you don't want to hang around in Sabiha Gokcen, then take a morning flight into Ataturk and take public transport from there to Sabiha.

Journey is:

Metro to Zeytinburnu. Metro to Eminounu. Ferry to Kadikoy. Bus to Sabiha Gokcen (service E-10).

With good connections journey time is 2.5 hours to 3 hours. Cost around 10TL.

It's also a good way to see lots of the city.

Itanbul is well worth at least a two/three night stay if you can afford the time. The pegasus flight to/from Ercan is very short and most enjoyable.

Northion,

If you buy your Visa in Turkey (Ataturk) it is also good for Cyprus, we have done this twice, there was no problems when we arrived at Ercan and the visa desk at Ataturk airport is very quick.

Regards,

Alex.

atlasjet or cta seem to be the cheapest from ercan - istanbul. Alı Bey has a deal with atlas jet at the moment making his prices very competitive...currently can pick returns up for 150tl...singles obviıosly vary with the date....come and have coffee - ıf you are in trnc!

ı agree with using the public transport in İstanbul - not taxis though! My daughter (9) and i went last summer. We had to take a taxi on saturday night as we had been to a pop concert and had to get back to the hotel. the driver was a manic, the more i asked him to slow down and more sacha cried he sped up. he finally had a minor crash, we got out terrified. sacha then refused to get a taxı back to the aırport on sunday. we took the tram all the way from sultan ahmet, ıt took about 40 mınutes, cost about 10tl in total - it was fab...

Thanks for the info. If we arive at Sabiha Gokcen then transfer to Ataturk for

Ercan is there anyway we can avoid the visa fees as im confused the last time we flew to Ercan from Standstead with Peagus i received a stamp on my passport however did not pay for a visa when in the TRNC .Am i right in assuming you need a visa to Visit Turkey but not required to visit the Trnc. Might been cheaper for us to fly direct to Cyprus.

Often Pegasus can be as cheap or cheaper for Istanbul SAW to / from Ercan but it will depend on when and what day you are travelling.

Shuttles and transfers in Istanbul are often a good idea rather than taxis and if you have lots of time (+ no bags) public transport can be fun.

You need to pay £10 for a visa to enter Turkey. If you are switching airports or are not booked through to Ercan you will have to pay this.

Entry visas to TRNC are free. (how come they haven't worked out money can be made here?)

Msg 13. You are right but remember your Turkish visa has 90 days validity (good for both ways)

A tourist visa for Brits to the TRNC is free as they don't want to put anything in the way.
