Quarantine for cats

I plan to move with my 3 cats to TRNC in June. I have some questions on bringing them into the country but cannot get any response from the quarantine facilities. I know people do bring animals out but I might have to send the cats out before I leave Saudi and have some questions because of this. I know it is supposed to be "DIY" quarantine but understand it is possible to have somebody look after them for me (for a fee of course!). Anybody know anything about this???? Any help much appreciated as time is moving on!

Hi RTgirl,

the best place for advice on bringing pets into TRNC is http://www.kyreniaanimalrescue.org also check out North Cyprus Airways website as they allow your pets to travel on the same flight as you into Ercan Airport ( I think with cats they allow them to travel up top with the owners as long as they are a certain size)

I am bringing my 2 dogs out in May and believe me its quite a confusing process but we are almost understanding it now!!

Hi Shona, thanks for that. I shall indeed check out those sites although I have a feeling they will give information from the UK and I am coming from Saudi Arabia - just to add to the interest!!!! I understand Turkish Airlines will bring the cats into Ercan but that will mean a 12 hour wait in Istanbul and as much as I love my kitties, I don't fancy that for myself.... I will likely go Bahrain to Larnaca and then taxi up north!!

Oh no worries there Shona, I have been told of that and would never risk it anyway, I'd look too suspicous if I tried and be caught.



Three cats are not easy to hide under a jumper, certainly not the two boys - big chaps they are!! They are stuck with coming via Istanbul, me I at least have the option of Larnaca which I will most likely use!
