Never heard of them. Unless you are talking about telephone banking/internet banking of course. This is available with HSBC in Girne, you log into turkey which is where your actual account is held. Girne is just a sub branch of Instanbul.

cressy ok here it goes once you have changed your money from sterling to lira (it only works with lira cos they only give you 4% on sterling) you decide how long a duration you want can be 1 month up to 12 months then the intrest is calculated on how long you choose the longer you leave it the higher the rate and the more money you use but you cant touch the intial money you put in till it expires otherwise you loose you interest personally i do a month at a time so at the end of each month the interest you have earned gets deposited in to your normal current account and then the intial money gets rolled over in to the next month and you start again or if you want you can stop it depending on your situation hope this helps and like i said you can play the exchange game aswell to make a bit more money

Thanks ukturk.Sorry if i appear a bit stupid, all this is new to be.We are looking at the option of renting rather than buying(for the moment anyway),We will have about 50000gbp to invest and are wandering what we would make on that a month(that would help towards living expenses,or suppliment wages).I understand what you are saying about the exchange game but would rather rely on something simpler(i know that investing money is a gamble). Thanks again.cress

so you are taking my advice on renting good choice (try before you buy) ok on about 50k in lira in a monthly fone account you will earn around 2200-2800 lira depending of course what rate you get (you can haggle with the manager on the rate you get and of course how long you leave it in for) so that calculates to around 800-1000 sterling depending on exchange rate i think this should cover your expenses aswell as doing a bit of work to earn a bit of pocket money
