Entertainment Hits A New High In TRNC

Since November last year, North Cyprus has been enjoying some fantastic entertainment, and there’s a lot more to come!

Jonnie Hawkins, hailed here as “The Welsh Wonder Kid” wowed audiences in the Girne area with his one man show and soon became a firm favourite with locals and ex-pats alike.

He then teamed up with well-known ex-pat Ronnie Grey, who himself is a very talented musician, and after recruiting 3 other talented guys, rock band Funky Monkey was born. Their repertoire extends from Queen to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, from The Who to Radiohead.

Around the same time, The Breakaway Blues Band was formed, fronted by another popular chap, Terry Hamilton. The Breakaway Blues band are now widely described as the best blues band in Cyprus.

Funky Monkey meanwhile have earned themselves the title, according to many, as the best band in Cyprus, full stop!

These two bands now work to bring what is probably the finest quality entertainment available each weekend at The Old Tunel Rock Bar in Girne. They play to a packed house on Fridays (Funky Monkey) and Saturday (both bands).

But it doesn’t stop there…

Jonnie, Ronnie and Ronnie’s partner, Marion run corporate management company Twin Management, and they are very pleased to unveil what promises to be a fantastic event for music lovers and people who just enjoy a good night out alike:

THE BIG JAM

The Big Jam is a 2 day music festival being held at the Old Tunnel Rock Bar in Girne on the 4th and 5th of April 2008.

Bands from both Cyprus and the UK are on the bill. The UK bands are flying in just for the 2 days especially to play at this event. RedRaw are a superb group from Scotland and the outstanding Spiny Norman hail from Wales.

These bands will be joined by the awesome BREAKAWAY BLUES BAND, and of course the one and only FUNKY MONKEY.

THIS IS A NOT-TO-BE-MISSED EVENT!

And the fun doesn't stop there.....watch out for special guest appearances on each night! We guarantee there is something for everyone…no matter if you are young or old, British or Cypriot, you are going to have a fantastic time.

Tickets for this event are on sale now and advanced bookings are highly advised as there is limited availability.

Tickets are 50YTL per night and will include a free drink and some other suprises!

Fun starts @ 7:00pm each night and will finish late....so get your dancing shoes on.
