New property law temporarily stops all construction permit applications

It has been published in the official gazette today that no construction permit applications will be considered for Kyrenia (from Karsiyaka in West to Esentepe in East).

It is widely believed that most construction companies have started construction before getting their construction permit and this will cause a chaos.

The TRNC government has not made a press conference about this and has not explained the reason of the new property law.

Some sources say this is politically motivated to give TRNC and Turkey something to show to international authorities since the two currently negotiated issues (Maras land and opening of ports in Turkey) will not happen.
