The current EU term president Finland has said that it is continuing with its efforts to avert a crisis between the EU and Turkey over it’s refusal to open its ports to Greek Cypriot traffic.
Speaking in an interview to AB haber news agency, the head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry’s Unit for Central and Southeastern Europe Pekka Orpana said that Finland has intensified its efforts to break the current deadlock on the Cyprus Problem and Turkey’s EU membership process.
Mr. Orpana said that his country gave great importance to Turkey’s EU accession process and to finding a solution the Cyprus Problem, adding that it was working hard to bring together all the parties concerned despite the short period of time remaining before the upcoming EU summit in December.
