Turkish Delight at World Food Market in UK
FAMOUS Turkish Delight makers Hacı Bekir were among the Turkish exhibitors at the UK debut of the World Food Market at ExCeL last week.
The two-day event, which ran from 23 – 24 November attracted an audience of around 2,500 foodservice, retail buyers and specifiers from the UK’s food industry.
Turkish food companies travelled from across the UK and Turkey to take part in a kaleidoscope of cooking demonstrations, product launches, seminars and a food market.
New chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce, Durmuş İbrahim Durmuş, who visited Turkish exhibitors at the show, said: "It’s very satisfying to see so many Turkish companies represented. Taking part in events like this gives a great boost to these companies. I wish them every success."
ExSA Foods Ltd, a food distribution company that supplies UK shops with Turkish produce, were among the most visited Turkish stands at the exhibition. The distributors drew crowds with their displays of Turkish trade marks including Gazi, Piyale, Penguen, Balparmak and Tadım.
ExSA official Özgür Kocademir said: "We’ve etched a place for ourselves in the food industry by paying close attention to product quality and customer service. Taking part in exhibitions like this helps give our work even more recognition."
